A shiny new engine which provided the booster pump from the fireplug. Check out the awesome LED lights on the equipment cabinet!
Located in some trees near a pond, (known locally as the Donkey Pond), is, what is marked on the map as a pumping engine. This ruin is all that is left of the building which housed it, but wether it was for the mines or the brewery, I don't know. That is belonged to the Stocks family of Upper Shibden Hall seems certain, not only is it on their land, but they owned the brewery and most of the mines!
The Pump holds a special place in my heart. When my family took trips to Yellowstone 35 years ago my father would drive straight through from Seattle while we slept in the back of the Volkswagen Bus. We would wake up here in Ennis, Montana at the state fishing/camping area outside of town. It was always a treat to use the pump to brush teeth and get a drink. Those memories stuck with me.
Now, I make my family stop there every time we go through Ennis. My daughters shake their heads a little bit that Dad has this crazy thing about the pump but I assure them that 35 years from now they'll also be nostalgic for those pleasant little memories that have defied change. Maybe in 35 more years they'll even find the pump still in place and working.

I can't quite bring myself to get rid of the sun and I found cloning bricks too difficult and life too short so I just obscured the sign.

This old treasure is loving cared for by Ralph, Lynn and Chris. The property is part of the James River Park System. It was built long ago to supply water for the fire hydrants in Richmond. It is a beautiful building.
The first real taste of summer.
By the way, if you are against video on flickr.... stop looking at this.
While waiting for the trafficlights I liked this truck. Maybe I always like a passion for pumps. Maybe I have a passion for pumps.

Four Candles is a sketch from the BBC comedy show The Two Ronnies, written by Ronnie Barker under the pseudonym of Gerald Wiley and first broadcast on 18 September 1976. Comic effect is largely generated through word play and homophones as a hardware shopkeeper, played by Ronnie Corbett, becomes increasingly frustrated by a customer, played by Barker, because he misunderstands what the customer is requesting.
The "pump" section of the sketch is described as:
He then asks for "pumps" and the shopkeeper asks him to elaborate. The customer complies by asking for "foot pumps". The shopkeeper brings a foot operated pneumatic pump to the counter. The customer then reveals he wants "brown pumps size nine". At this point the shopkeeper becomes convinced that the customer is playing a practical joke on him.
