I wore these pumps both yesterday and today, so you get two days in one. With the olive green colour and the serious toe cleavage, these are, for me, The Ultimate Pump. I bought them especially for BlogHer '06, and still love them fervently today. Bandolino's, I think.

When I was younger I was obsessed with Reebok Pumps (still fascinated to this day, actually). I remember that my mom wouldn’t buy me the real pumps, so I’d always have to settle for the generic brand which wasn’t nearly as cool and I probably couldn’t jump as high either. I think my next sneaker purchase will definitely be a pair of Reebok Pumps – can’t wait! Anyhow – this piece comes from a Foster the People song called “Pumped Up Kicks”.

The R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant is an architectural jewel — legacy of an age when infrastructure was celebrated. Its elegant styling reflects the importance given to clean water. We should remember that sentiment: clean water has saved more lives than all the hospitals of Toronto, even if we take it for granted nowadays.

"The large pumps in this room drive treated water into Toronto’s distribution system; the small pumps return water to the Filter Building to backwash (clean) the filters. The pumps in the low-lift room, on the lower level at the far end, deliver raw water to the Filter Building for treatment. Each pump is numbered; the elaborate limestone signal panel at the far end indicates which pumps are operating.

"Queenston limestone is also used in the pilasters, carved panels, and stringcourse at the west end, the columns supporting the overhead travelling crane, the window surrounds, and on the walls above the Frontenac Calvartex herringbone tile work. Ornamental metalwork can be found on the south doorway, the corner wall lamps, the gallery balustrade, and the rails, chains, and posts on the south side of the room. The plaster ceiling 56m long and 24m wide was one of Canada's largest when hung in 1937."

Da bin ich im Klassenraum, bevor der Erste Student kam. Ich hoffe doch die Studenten können sich konzentrieren. Hatte mal einen Student, der ev. Fussfeti war, er starrte mir dauernd auf die Schuhe und Füsse

The handle and hose are recent and in good shape, but this pump's shell and innards are worn. Grass needs no Techron to grow.

I'd had this one to visit for well over a couple of years but only managed to get there a few months back. I was gutted to see that the old Tokheim pumps had been replaced although it was great to see the small village petrol station still trading with attended service as an added bonus.

The newer pumps appear to have only been installed fairly recently as the old diesel pump which had been kept for decoration still displays 169.9 but the pump island has had some modification to accommodate the newer pumps.

The earliest street view shows all three pumps UK branded with two of the three both for diesel with one would later dispense red diesel.

By August 21 the UK branding was no longer on the pumps

Gov. Schwarzenegger also dropped in for a ride. He must be looking for an improvement on that whole Hummer thing.

The Governator may like the esoteric technologies… 6,831 Lithium Ion batteries, liquid cooling, carbon fiber body, 200kW of accelerating power (0-60 in 4 seconds in first gear)

Jalopnik got the photo scoop. And he has an evocative gush:

“The torque is unbelievable. And eerie. The power just comes on right now and does not abate. It's absolutely batty; unlike anything we've experienced. We think our kidneys may still be embedded in the seatback. And it sticks. Hoons, your EV has arrived. Yes, you do practically trade bodily fluids with your motoring companion…”
