The Lambo was as the wrong place at the wrong time. He was speeding (surprise). Enough said. End of story.
I read a poem every evening on Flickr and I add it to Facebook as well. I wear these pullovers in succession as the light colour shows up better than most of the thicker ones I wear each day.
Here is a link to the album of poems I've read: Poetry
This photograph, which comes to you by courtesy of the letter P, is my sixteenth picture for the February Alphabet Fun: 2021 group.
This is why I don't have a blog. I'm just not consistent with posting and I'm behind in uploading photos of stuff I've sewn. But...I just HAD to share this in a timely manner! I am honored to have been selected to be a tester for the newest pattern from Cali Faye Collection - The Rumi Pullover. I was lucky enough to be a tester for Sarah's Brenna Coat a couple year's back, but have yet to post pics it. Yikes. But, back to the Rumi Pullover. It dropped today and is 30% off until 10/15/16! It was so fun to be a part of the talented and supportive group of women in this tester group as we did have some work to do for this pattern. Sarah is awesome - she puts immense amount of work into her patterns to make sure they're high quality and will resonate the sewing community. You will like this pattern!!!
So this top...I love it because it is roomy without being frumpy, though I think I could size down 1 size next time. This pattern is designed for use with textured knits or knits that have a little more weight and stability--remember this when choosing fabric for this pullover. Not wanting to cut into precious fabric during testing, I used thrifted, lightweight, drapey knit fabric that does NOT work with this pattern. Fabric choice is everything. However, for my final version, I knew I wanted to use this loose weave, lightweight sweater knit that I got from FIDM in L.A (a must visit if you garment sew and visit L.A.--can we say $1.50 to $2.00/yd. for very cool garment fabric?!!!! say whaaat???!). I so wish I got more yardage of it.
Modifications I made to this pattern: Shortened it by 2" - I'm just shy of 5'0". While I'm petite in height, according to pattern measurements, I'm an XXL! Yes, did you get a visual on that?! An XXL, 5'0" person! Tee hee! I'm like a teapot - short and stout. But, based on previous experience with Cali Faye patterns, for testing, I sewed up a medium that was just a tad bit snug. For my final version, I sewed up an XL. So I think there is room to size down with this pattern. Just depends on the look and feel you want. I used the size medium sleeve cuff but it's still a little too long. Also, I used the wrong sleeve cuff (older testing version) so it's a little roomier that it should be. The correct version is more fitted around the arm. The neckline calls for bias tape, but it was just too thick for this fabric so I just neatened the neckline and folded it down 3/8". The neckline was already getting a little deep and wide for me, so it actually worked out well. Scroll through the pics and you'll see the side and back view of the top.
Again, I love this top pattern and top! It's super cozy and comfy. And please take a look at the other fantastic tester versions! You will see how their fabric choices create totally different looks!

Not my sweater. It's my aunt who has knitted it for my mum. I think this is the Greatest Sweater EVER, though, and I'm trying to hunt down a pattern. The pattern is Dale of Norway's Lillehammer 1994 sweater.

Leaf Pullover from Bernat All Alpaca (to knit) booklet
Pattern called for Bernat Alpaca Naturals, but I chose Softee Chunky for cost reasons (because I really wanted this sweater and really wanted to knit it NOW). It was easy and I think turned out very cute. Size medium.
I'm really happy with this sweater! I finished knitting it on Friday. The pattern is the Gathered Pullover (with quite a few mods) and the yarn is Classic Elite Inca Alpaca (I love this stuff). Cozy, warm, and cute!
Modifications noted on Ravelry!

Greek Pullover by Sharon Shoji (Interweave Knits, Fall 2005) - size 38
Kid Classic (Rowan) colorway Iced Jade, 5 balls
I made the body 5 cm=2” longer (before the decreases).
I'm not sure about it... Perhaps it's more flattering on a smaller bust...
I finally finished it! My first crochet project which is *not* a scarf or a bag. :)
