Shirts used by the mountain man would have been a simple pullover design with a large body and loose fitting sleeves. Solid colors, especially red, but including blue, green and yellow were favorites.

The capote (French: [kapɔt]) or capot (French: [kapo]) is a long coat with a hood.
From the early days of the North American fur trade, both natives and French Canadian voyageurs made wool blankets into capotes to cope with Canada's cold winters. They served as winter outerwear for the habitants and voyageurs of New France and the Métis of the Red River Colony.
The Hudson’s Bay Company also sold capotes, called blanket coats or Hudson Bay coats, made out of their "point" blankets.

I was almost alarmed to discover how many friends and neighbours have put up their Christmas lights and decorations already.
According to the Independent newspaper, "‘Coronavirus can’t take away the magic’: Christmas comes early as people put up decorations in November to spread joy."
Confess that I usually choose my tree a couple of weeks before Christmas, but currently getting into the swing and going ahead on 2nd December, the end of lockdown. Bah Humbug!
Also decided to release a few festive shots from the archives to get me into the Christmas Spirit, so to speak.
It's almost sweater weather! I had my husband take a photo of me wearing a pullover that I finished back in June. The pattern is the Cozy Classic Raglan, designed by Jessie Maed Designs. The yarns—fingering and lace weight held together—are from my favorite local dyer, Hazel Knits.

I made the body 5 cm=2” longer (before the decreases).
I'm not sure about it... Perhaps it's more flattering on a smaller bust...
