I'm sure you're like me - when you think of pulled pork, you think of kitty litter buckets in the garage...
I brined the butts overnight - salt, brown sugar, cumin, paprika, garlic powder...
I kept it in the garage 'cause it was the right temp and 'cause there wasn't any room in any of the fridges...
Christian left the house at noon to pick up Chick Fil A to eat while watching the Buckeyes. 45 minutes later, during the first quarter, he sent a text saying the parking situation was no good due to the USC game. BOOO. The Bucks were struggling and no Chick Fil A? Crap. He then texts saying he has something better. I was skeptical. Another 45 minutes lapse and finally he arrives. And he was right. Daaaaamn that's good mac n cheese. The barbecue and beans were good too :)

I was waiting in a long line at Pecan Lodge a couple years ago when the guy next to me made me promise to try Hutchins BBQ in McKinney, about 30 miles north of Dallas. Every single thing I tried was amazing from the brisket to the complimentary desserts. Possibly the best pulled pork Ive ever had and the brisket is definitely top 5.
Hutchins BBQ. McKinney, Texas.
reasons for this:
Wood chips rather than wood chunks
5cfm fan on BBQ Guru's DigiQ II going full blast
Long exposure on my camera
I shared this with my wife's family. Taken at Ribfest in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
This particular sandwich was pretty good, but not the best of the day. The meat chunks were huge and tender, but the sauce was just so-so.

What an amazing breakfast! I had the BBQ pork and eggs served on cornbread pancakes, with grits and all the fresh biscuits I could eat on the side.
