i looked at this reflection in this puddle so long i almost missed a gigantic thunderstorm brewing up behind me...anniversary of the so called (haha) moon landing...
I think the capes were a new style this year from Kaleidoscope Wear. I got one for the msds and one for the Pukifee/Lati size kids to share.
Taken at PUDDLE 2010 in Elk Grove Village, IL.

A raindrop that landed in a puddle right at the point in the puddle reflection between the building and sky... If that makes sense
This puddle gave me hours of fun after I shot it in January 2008. I already posted three montages of other versions of it, and here is the one that I like the best.
The original is flat and grey, amazing what a bit of digi-fiddle can do!!
BTW If I lived behind these gates, which are a little further up my road, they would be off their hooks and behind the garage by now.
I see residents of this gated area waiting for them to open for what seems an eternity; if they were not electric they could have nipped out and opened them in a fraction of the time, without contributing to global warming.
Benjamin started on the edge of the puddle, but the inevitable happened; he ended up in the middle of it.

A Pipevine Swallowtail sips nutrients from the edge of a very muddy mud puddle at Broughtons Wildlife Education Center, near Marietta Ohio in late May. By sipping the fluids from the saturated soil the butterfly gets needed nutrients, vitamins and amino acids.
It was a challenge to get close enough to the butterfly for a good photo without doing some unwanted puddling myself, LOL, as the soil for a large area around him was very wet and boggy.
This was the first Pipevine Swallowtail I had the opportunity to photograph this year. I was also hoping to get a dorsal view but it was not to be on this encounter.
Numbers for most butterfly species in my area seem low this year with some species completely absent.
