After I put on my Froggy shirt, I got 3 frogs as neighbors! Puddles would have been a better name for a dog though.
A puddle on one of the paths on friday morning. The sediment had tim to settle out of it leaving an incredibly clear puddle. Would have been better if some inconvenient individual hadn't come by and dipped his boot in it.
This is one of several small groups of butterflies found puddling at Timon Campground in South Dakota. While there was not standing water, they must have found a salty patch in the gravel. For those of you butterfly gurus, you will note two Plebejus saepiolus, numerous Phyciodes cocyta, and at least two Phyciodes batesii.
Parking lot puddle with the sky reflected. It had rained the day before when we had originally scheduled the walk. I'm so glad we postponed.
A big storm woke me this morning; it left us with intermittent power and flooded roads that couldn't keep up with the downpour. It cleared in the early afternoon so pup and I got a quick walk in. If I'd had more time I'd have collected some of the downed lichen covered branches.
Forgot to upload this yesterday. I am at the other end of Chippy's leash. Pongo, usually a puddle-avoider (to answer Colin's question), had a brief lapse in judgement, I guess, and went bounding through this one. Chip never saw a puddle he didn't like.
It's a lot of fun to walk around and look at everyone's dolls. I enjoy seeing how people customize them. But it's also neat to see some of the rarer dolls or brand new ones in person.
