A kid and a puddle. Et voila. Artsy-fartsy alternate here.
{weather note: we are having major rain today. one friend said that the weatherman was practically urging people to build arks. that cracked me up.}

Dear whoever keeps leaving used muscovy ducks in my local pond,
Thanks, I really appreciate it.

The sun shined brilliantly after the morning shower to warm the atmosphere. The butterflies were free to fly again after the compulsory curfew. Many of them looked famished by the way they fervently held on to fresh flowers, undeterred by anything- not even the black-eyed camera. Hunger had taken the better part of them- one of three moments when they are most vulnerable in their short-spanned life.
This black and yellow one was flying very close to the ground like someone intently looking for something. It would settle at a spot first and probe the mineral-rich soil with its long sucker, then move on to another, then another until it found the sweetest spot. The portion with a thin coating of green algae seemed the most preferable. It's been like this on two, three occasions now.

I went through a period of being very artistically interested in (read 'obsessed with') taking shots like this -- down in the shadowed reaches of the urban canyons, looking into puddles up at brightly-lit tall objects. I thought it made it look like I was peering through a rip in reality. Another instance of the same series is here.

It's a lot of fun to walk around and look at everyone's dolls. I enjoy seeing how people customize them. But it's also neat to see some of the rarer dolls or brand new ones in person.
This was through a puddle, i like the way it looks like my lens is iced up (but of course I wouldn't want that)

7 Days of Shooting Week #21 - Playing Around / Shoot Anything Saturday
It's raining today (December) but it's much too cold to play in the puddles...soon to be ice...I'd rather look at this picture, taken when our grands came to visit in July of 2009. They loved playing in the rain puddles. :)
Visualized at work one rainy day then executed in the alley behind my house shortly after. Would try again with a less muddy puddle.
P is for Puddle
It seems to have rained every day so far this year, and yet when you want a puddle, they are hard to find! This one was in Bottle Alley, by the beach in Hastings.
Splashing in muddy puddles!
We went a walk to the woods today and I had this shot in mind so "made" Abigail jump in lots of muddy puddles, none of them came out quite right but this is the best. I took quite a lot of photos walking round the woods and can definately see me heading back there with the camera for future hpad shots. As always it was good to get out in the fresh air, just annoying that minutes after I took this it started raining and I got soaked!
