Interesting oil pattern on a puddle. Looks like a combination of Smale type fold-bend-compression and hydrodynamic fingering.

The first week of my 3-week Summer vacation is almost up and I have reached a state of bliss already, I am so super-relaxed and rested, I'm sleeping 8-10 hours every day, I'm doing almost exclusively things that I want to do and I'm taking it so easy that even when things are not going my way, I shrug it off and continue with a 'Pffft' on my lips, instead of getting upset. I feel a bit like Peter in the movie 'Office Space' after he gets hypnotized, I have a smile on my face most of the time and nothing really bothers me...I hope that I can keep this up even after my vacation ends and I'll have to go back to the grind, hehe :)

Butterflies congregating on a muddy shoreline in a behavior known as "puddling." I think they are "Sleepy Orange" butterflies, yellow on the underside, orange on the top. Big Bend Ranch State Park, Texas.

It's a lot of fun to walk around and look at everyone's dolls. I enjoy seeing how people customize them. But it's also neat to see some of the rarer dolls or brand new ones in person.
The morning light was rockin' with the splashin'. Unfortunately I only had my pocket camera and it was having big trouble keeping up.
Almost always puddles on this street. On the way to the baseball game. I'm always looking for water. It hadn't been raining.

The Friday Night Tea Party in the lobby area is a time to enjoy some tea and admire dolls. There's also some informal selling to indulge in.
Our backyard floods when it rains. As of late, we have experienced quite a bit of precipitation falling from the sky. On this day, B. enjoyed the rather big puddle on the sidewalk that goes through our back yard (yes, we have a sidewalk that connects all the backyards in the neighborhood). I only uploaded the photos from this day -- but there have been several days of fun with this activity. Some of them with clothes, some of them not. :-)
