Sourdough Bread Pudding of Alaska Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce Sourdough Bread Pudding is one of the most amazing smells in the kitchen and that of Sourdough anything in the oven. All through the Northwest United States, Western Canada, and Alaska, you will see the telltale signs of a sourdough starter bubbly and hard […]
My brother-in-law Marty on the roof of his house with his dog, Pudding. Marty is recognized in Taiwan as an expert on environmental friendly design and energy efficiency. This house in Changhua, which he renovated has won several awards and been featured on TV. The solar panels generate electricity and any excess juice is sold back to the power company.
That's all well and good, however, the main reason I'm posting this is because I just joined the Photos of Dogs on Roofs Flickr group. It is my only contribution so far.

25.4.15... We had friends over for dinner but I cheated and got my friend (who owns a restaurant) to make pudding. Chocolate and chilli tart.
There is a new little girl in the house!
Thank you so much Jane for sending me her plates, - I adore her!
She has to share bodies with Whittaker, which poor Whittaker isn't too happy about, but perhaps someday we might get lucky and find Pudding her own body.
I'm off on holiday tomorrow, and I have a sneaking suspicion that someone might stowaway in my luggage ;)
Apropos of nothing, an even better rice pudding than the last one I'd made. The only differences were the highly abbreviated cooking time (30 to 40 minutes! Occasional stirring! And it's done!) and the use of arborio (short-grained risotto rice) rather than longer, thinner stuff. I kept the flavorings--a bay leaf and a half a vanilla bean, split--I'd fallen in love with last time. It was perfect. It is gone now. (Those are dried cherries on top. This picture is awful.)

little dessert snack in the afternoon. oreo pudding. the chocolate didn't taste like regular chocolate, it did remind me of the cookie part of an oreo, which also doesn't taste like chocolate. but it's still good.
From the recipe book "have your cake and vegan too" by Kris Holechek. This is baked in a shallow pan/dish and served warm. It was especially moist with an ample amount of "pudding" in the bottom of the pan. The one thing it lacked was the zesty orange flavor. We found it too subtle. Next time. A large orange, instead of medium. More zest just may do it!
This Christmas Pudding Cake was made using our very popular ball tins. You can find information about these at our online shop.

Still craving Western food, Julia turned to Jamie for a cannelloni recipe.
The wonderful tomato sauce with basil and garlic was very good, but the creme fraiche made the whole dish too rich. I was quite shocked ot see 4 types of cheese in the dish! Ricotta in the filling, mozarella in the topping, creme fraiche instead of bechamel sauce, and finally, grated parmesan cheese on top!
Next time, I think we'll just do tomato sauce and parmesan, or perhaps Antonio Carluccio's baked gnocchi with the simple tomato sauce and parmesan cheese.
I spooned the extra filling into a ramekin lined with basil and it turned out to be a nice little baked ricotta pudding! I'll do that again, but squeezing more moisture from the spinach.
