Super crazy night at the Minneapolis Zombie Pub Crawl VI (2010). I met up with my Flickr and Meetup buddies Terry and John and we followed the zombies for another 6 hours. If I could summarize the experience, it would be something like this:
11,000 Zombies + Beer + Minneapolis = Police, Ambulance, and Firefighters + Awesome Photos

The Royal Oak is a prime site for Edinburgh's folk-scene and is also the local for Ian Rankin's fictional detective John Rebus. Located in Infirmary Street the pub is about three minutes walk from Edinburgh's City Mortuary, a place very well known to the worthy bobby. The pub is also a favourite of Rebus's prolific creator.

From Wolverhampton council's local list report (2008):
"A two storey pub in pink to mauve-grey brick, in a prominent position on a major road junction. Traditional in form, with a hipped roof, it has streamlined, moderne elevations with large metal windows, and doorcases with streamlined side mouldings, flat hoods, jazzy windows above the doors, and circular plaques of eagles above. The interior was gutted in 2007. The garden survives at the rear, its terrace marked by a low stone wall. This is the better survivor of the architect Twentyman’s two most significant pre-war pubs. Its historical importance, its position in an area itself of historic importance (Fallings Park Garden Suburb), and the quality of the exterior mean that it retains its significance despite recent alterations."
Believe it or not I didn't call in for a swifgt one.. Havcing returned from teh camera club and passed by I couldn't resist trying a night shot. This pub, apart from dating from the 17th centuary is locatyed in a quiet corner of town and dosn't suffer too much from light polution.
I have arrived in Rothbury around noon on Tuesday 26/05/09, travelling by free bus-pass from Stockton/Newcastle/Morpeth and the final leg to Rothbury. The Inn Way, features no less than 48 traditional country pubs but the only one which I visited was the Newcastle Hotel in this picture and this not till my retrun at the end of my walk. I love country pubs as much as anyone but drinking and walking mix up a poor cocktail.
William Armstrong:1810-1900, was a hugely successful armaments manufacturer at it's peak his companies employed over 25,000 people in facories at Elswick along the banks of the river Tyne in Newcastle. (The Hadrian's Wall walk passes the sites of these old factories). He was elevated to ermine becoming Baron Armstrong of Cragside in 1887. Cragside is his nearby stately home which he built into one of the finest piles in England. He also bought Bamburgh Castle which is still in the familys possession.
The ornately carved memorial cross was erected in 1902.
Here you can see, what you just have seen from outside - the brewery and the pub. Outside you can see the old oak tree.
