330-PS-1214: USS Manchester (CL 83) firing on Wonsan, Korea. With the paint of its barrels blistered from the rapid rate of firing, the big guns of the cruiser seem to be looking over the damage it has caused the Communists. The fire is from a fuel dump that hit early in the afternoon and continued to burn long after darkness. Photographed, March 13, 1951. (6/30/2015).
The print says it all, though I guess it can`t be far from the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour as to the stern looks like the Square Tower with Sally Port jutting out. The sky line has much changed with Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker Tower.When waiting for the Isle of Wight Ferry to cross over either way, it was always a delight when a paddler turned up.
