It took a week to make this Proton Pack prop for Halloween

Here the rest of the pieces for the smaller boxes of the proton wand housing are cut out and put into piles.

The switch box has been glued into place.

Piles of parts for the back box and switch box.

hehe...anyway

These smaller axle hat nuts are used to simulate the knobs found next to the Clippard valves on the movie props. Not a very close simulation there, but close enough again.

The piece that covers the hole where the handle juts out of the back of the wand is a little more tricky to cut, since it comes out at an angle. However, by marking off the width of the tubing, and then the upper and lower limits of the hole, I was able to sketch an ellipse that, in theory, should provide a hole that would work on the actual piece.

Circular caps are cut from illustration board and glued to the ends of 1/2-inch couplings (bought in a bag of 12). These will simulate the cylindrical structures found next to the emitter tube.

The assembled back box, which attaches to the main housing just under the handle.

Here is the back box glued into place.
