A building was demolished beside it some time ago but nothing has been built yet. There was a development application sign up for this building (it's still there but covered with posters) but the development obviously fell through and continues to exist as an empty lot.
Prop for Sleep When You're Dead. The director asked for a creepy looking vampire book and told me just make it however I thought it should look. The day I got it done, I called to make 100% sure it was what she wanted. Before I could describe it, she said anything was fine as long as "it didn't have an ankh on it or something stupid like that." Sigh.

I'm constantly amazed at the props I have acquired over the last few months...I love visiting antique shops and thrift stores.
Today I went to Michaels craft store and bought a white plastic mask and
some paint to make a prop to use in a photoshoot for a book cover
illustration on false religions.
I'm planning on taking a photo of the mask in tact and then we will begin to
break it up and take photos of it in increasing states of brokeness. That
way we should have a variety of visual options.
I couldn't resist putting the mask on and taking a photo. It's a bit creepy
but seeing eyes in the slots definite adds another dimension.
A combination floor lamp and desk lamp. I tried many combination but came to the conclusion that this is the best combo.
Now what could this be. . .?
Prop construction for the Labyrinth of Jareth annual fantasy masquerade ball, held this year (our 11th!) on July 11th and 12th, at the historic Henry Fonda Musicbox Theatre in Hollywood, California. There are still tickets up for Friday!
