I guess I won't be getting this vanity plate to brag on my efforts at Distributed Proofreaders. Not that I'm planning to get a vanity plate; I'm interested in too many things to single one out.
We needed our invites to be in English and Spanish. Thankfully Ricardo's father could come in and proofread the Spanish I got from Google translate.
We did our wedding invitations with a budget in mind. I designed them myself on Photoshop and then printed them as 2 postcards (one was the invite and the other was the RSVP) on Vistaprint.
Most of the popular fiction novels are written through the perspective of multiple characters which lends an authentic feel to what’s happening in the story. This form of storytelling takes time to master. If you’re looking to improve on how you narrate a story, PaperTrue brings you a blog which explains how to write multiple POV novels.

Tender Digitality introduces an aesthetically oriented concept that intricately intertwines binary systems in a complex manner, setting them in motion. The concept, which is developed at the Zurich University of the Arts, responds to the human desire for sensuality, interpersonal connection, intuition, and well-being in digital environments. It explores ways to (re)transmit these experiences into the analog world of a book, developing its own distinct vocabularies.
Readers are guided through the various perspectives of this kaleidoscope, encouraging them to delve into different play-forms of “tender digitality” and develop their own approach. Assuming the role of researchers, they discover phenomena of extraordinary beauty or bizarreness within the spectrum spanning analogue and digital, social, and technological domains. Through exploration, learning, and the cultivation of “tender digitality,” readers can envision their own version of a community where individuals and artificial intelligences, avatars and cyborgs, humans and computers navigate digital landscapes with agency, intuition, and sensitivity.

The instructions said to place the screws at 6" and 16.5" above the ground (bottom and middle marks). The top piece of blue tape marks where the second screw actually needed to be (22.5"). Someone did not proofread those instructions. :(

How AI is changing the Landscape of Typography
Creativity and innovation are no longer exclusively the province of humans, but the result of collaboration, a game of interpretation in the dialog between humans and machines. This is the world in which we live today, where artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving and new scenarios are opened.
AI technology is transforming the realms of art, design, communication, and marketing. However, when it comes to typography, in this age of co-creation, it has not yet taken center stage in this evolutionary process, but it is ripe for experimentation.
Gianpaolo Tucci's research led him to recognize aesthetic imperfections as a source of uniqueness in each individual representation. The world is entering a new era of typographical artifacts, where typography moves beyond the strict confines of function to embrace new values of expression.
This is not a book on typography, but the expression of a point of view, a practical guide, and an investigation on how the integration and ethical use of artificial intelligence will play a fundamental role in modeling this future. This book witnesses the birth of a co-creation era, urging a rethinking to craft a more human-centric future where AI magnifies human creativity, rather than replacing it. Take a breath, and as if we were unaware laboratory animals, Tucci invites to jump into this journey made of confused, blurred, anatomical, radical, colorful, and sometimes overturned visions.
AI and typography—a dialogue between humans & nature!

I don't know who is more at fault here. The ad agency editor who did a crappy job proofing this ad or the artist who designed it.

I'm not perfect. I make embarrassing errors all the time, but with the students I like to play Punctuation Police. I'm not above taking a red pen around the school and "tagging" posters with proofreader marks.

This sign is posted at the entrance to our town dump. There is another sign, just like it posted on the recycling building, too.
So, do I get extra bonus points for finding a sign with two mispeelings?
(Actually, I cannot take credit for the proofreading... it was our very own Crow who noticed the words "Floresent" and Attendent"...!)

The Plantin Polyglot (also called the Antwerp Polyglot, the Biblia Regia or "King's Bible") was printed by Christopher Plantin in Antwerp (Belgium) between 1568 and 1573.
Plantin was suspected of Calvinist sympathies, although Antwerp at that time was firmly Catholic. He developed a plan to prove his loyalty to the Catholic king Philip II of Spain by producing a polyglot version of the Bible, in five languages. The king promised to finance the project — completing it nearly bankrupted Plantin — and sent the Spanish theologian Benito Arias Montano to Antwerp to watch over the production of this eight-volume of printing, which was printed in 1,200 copies on paper and 12 copies on parchment.
Printing the Bible required thirteen printing presses and fifty-five men to run them, as well as expert linguists who acted as proofreaders.
The first four volumes contain the Old Testament. The left page has two columns with the Hebrew original and the Latin translation, the right page has same text in Greek with its own Latin translation. Underneath these columns there is an Aramaic version on the left-hand page and a Latin translation of this on the right-hand side. I love finding evidence of human error in books - a forgotten period, a missed space, and a thumb-shaped smudge in the ink the book was printed with on the bottom of a page. As a proofreader, it shouldn't make me happy to find such obvious imperfections, but it does. :)
I wish professional signage places, and the events that use them, employed more (better) proofreaders.
