I ordered my beautiful business cards from MOO - mini cards with handpicked designs for the back (I sat for hours and chose all my favourite ones!) and a custom logo for the front.
They're enormously popular... people like to sort through the designs to make sure that they got the 'very best' one so they can show off to all their friends. Business Card Win!
Cards are for www.bakercourt.co.uk, and my personal portfolio as a freelance writer at www.staceychamberlain.co.uk.
How AI is changing the Landscape of Typography
Creativity and innovation are no longer exclusively the province of humans, but the result of collaboration, a game of interpretation in the dialog between humans and machines. This is the world in which we live today, where artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving and new scenarios are opened.
AI technology is transforming the realms of art, design, communication, and marketing. However, when it comes to typography, in this age of co-creation, it has not yet taken center stage in this evolutionary process, but it is ripe for experimentation.
Gianpaolo Tucci's research led him to recognize aesthetic imperfections as a source of uniqueness in each individual representation. The world is entering a new era of typographical artifacts, where typography moves beyond the strict confines of function to embrace new values of expression.
This is not a book on typography, but the expression of a point of view, a practical guide, and an investigation on how the integration and ethical use of artificial intelligence will play a fundamental role in modeling this future. This book witnesses the birth of a co-creation era, urging a rethinking to craft a more human-centric future where AI magnifies human creativity, rather than replacing it. Take a breath, and as if we were unaware laboratory animals, Tucci invites to jump into this journey made of confused, blurred, anatomical, radical, colorful, and sometimes overturned visions.
AI and typography—a dialogue between humans & nature!

Date:
1758 (church); 1765–1767 (high altar)
Artists:
Sculptor: Veit Königer (1729–1792); cabinetmaker: Josip Herman (active c. 1750)
Denomination / Type of monument:
Religious, parish church, interior furnishing
Patron(s):
The church: the citizens of Prelog and the parish priest, Ivan Mihovil Smrekar; the high altar: Abbot Josip Gradičaj
History:
The parish priest, Ivan Mihovil Smrekar who was educated in Graz and in Vienna, commissioned the church in 1758. The citizens of Prelog paid for it with alms. In little over a decade (1765–1767) a monumental three-part high altar – a documented work of the sculptor, Veit Königer, and cabinetmaker, Josip Herman of Graz – furnished the altar financed by Abbot Josip Gradičaj. It is likely that the community were able to engage the outstandingly important sculptor, Königer, because of family connections in Croatia – his sister was married to the Varaždin sculptor, Josip (Josephus) Schranz – after whose death she married the sculptor Leopold Mayrhofer (active c. 1771).
Description:
The high altar, a monumental and typologically rare composition consisting of three altars architecturally connected, is a documented work by Styria's most important sculptor of the time, Veit Königer. His work betrays a clear and persistent element of Classicism, linked to his artistic training at the Vienna Academy, along with Rococo elements. The central altar is dedicated to the titular saint of the church, St. James, while the side altars are dedicated to St. Joseph and St. John Nepomuk. The central part of the Altar of St. James is accentuated by a pair of columns the width of which, on the mensa, a monumental tabernacle is placed adorned with a row of angels. Alongside the columns are imposing figures of the apostles St. Peter and St. Paul, the handling of which draws closely on the sculptures of the same saints on the Altar of St. Ignatius in Graz Cathedral. An imposing Holy Trinity in a sunburst halo crowns the altar. On the side altars, the placing of the ornamentation is more marked, aspiring to the picturesque. This outstanding sculptural achievement was an important stimulus for the leading Maribor sculptor, Joseph (Jožef) Holzinger (1735–1797), an inspiration seen in the disposition of his sculptures on the side altars of the church in Polenšak (Slovenia). A pulpit was installed in the church in Prelog before the altar (1760 is mentioned). According to stylistic analysis, the pulpit reliefs are likely to have been by Königer.

Steve randomly decided to make some yogurt panna cotta the other night. We had the last two last night for dessert with strawberries on top. I didn't feel like taking a picture of the first two the night before, but I hadn't yet taken a picture yesterday. I was too busy proofreading the program for the summer shows when I got home from work.

He knows my favorite everything. He does what he says he'll do. He loves his kids even when they make us want to tear out our (thinning, graying) hair. He buys me steak when the budget allows and fastens my necklaces for me. All this, and he's cute, too. <3

How I Met My Second Husband Online at Age 50: A dating coach shares the keys to her Internet dating success
Since 2004, I've been a dating coach who helps divorced and widowed people find love the second time around. I've also been a life coach for 9 years, helping separated and divorcing people create a happier new life as a single. After a 16-year marriage and 8+ years in the post-divorce dating world, I met my second husband on YahooPersonals. I've been a writer, copy editor, and proofreader for 30 years. I'm also a motivational speaker and workshop facilitator. My B.A. is in English, and my M.S. is in Communications.
If you're going to open up an English conversation school, I recommend you have a native English speaker proofread your name.

I'm not sure I can really add anything to make this photo any more entertaining. I love juxtaposition, so to have the word itself juxtaposed with also-excellent words such as "microwave oven" and "optimal copy" is magnificent. And there you go.

The new nature documentary I helped on was officially released today! It's called Flight: The Genius of Birds. Watch the trailer at www dot illustramedia dot com, where you can order the DVD or wait till the Blu-ray is released June 11. The film is loaded with amazing facts with stunning animations and cinematography about birds and how they fly, beautifully filmed with a RED Epic camera (same used for The Hobbit). Eight scientists and specialists tell the story. Great music, too-- a terrific experience for your home theater! I helped with the research and proofreading, but the credit goes to the producer and his talented team.
This is Scott, me and Jon (the incredible writing team) in line for our morning coffee. Julie (our proofreader) took the photo before we were ready for our closeups. As you can see, I'm in no mood.
If you could see further in the background, you'd notice the crowd gathered to watch the World Cup. This shop that we frequent is owned by a native of Italy and soccer means the world to him, so he rolled in a huge plasma screen TV just for the games. Our charming little European café in just a few short weeks has become something of a sports bar (though much quieter). It's pretty funny to see all the suits and the jocks mingling in such a way.

I copyedited and proofread parts of this book this time last year, and yesterday the finished product came in the mail, shrinkwrapped and packed in a too-big box among too many styrofoam peanuts. I got the gig when a blog reader asked if I have any experience with art history books.

Letters start to fade,
But words will remain,
Proofreading will not be needed,
Just to stop the rain.
Colors may turn pale,
But pictures will stay,
Don't take as an opinion,
To obliterate it all away.
For all I can see is near,
And blurry image forms when far,
Should I cling to my fear?
Or going beyond the bar?
Because not all the time,
We can see the truth,
Like catching a dime,
From dear old Ruth.
Eyes is for sight
And it cannot bite
'Cause we can't see the future,
From a simple figure.
But don't lose hope,
Put away the envelope,
'Cause there's always a light,
In every twilight.

Work. Daring Greatly book club at lunch. The topic: shame. It's a big one but Brene, of course, presents it brilliantly. Home and onto the mat for my practice. I haul out my big wall mirror. I feel like I need a bit of visual feedback on my chaturanga to up dog transition. It helps a bit, but more practice is needed. I also bring out my phone to time my standing poses. Can't argue with what 1 or 2 minutes actually is when the phone keeps you honest. It's a sweaty, vigorous practice followed by a very quiet, peaceful savasana. After it's time to head to the studio. It's the return of my Tuesday night vinyasa class. There are new faces and familiar faces and I'm so happy to be there with them. For class, I'd decided on a general overall flow ending in bridge. A chance to remember that mid/upper back in our first class of the year. After class I rewarm some soup and toss a salad. I shouldn't, but while I eat I proofread my post and make a few edits. Then I schedule it to go live on Wednesday morning. I get ready for bed and cozy in amongst my blankets for a few pages of Julia before falling asleep on the early side.
