Snow leopard-proof fencing is becoming more common.

About half way through a work in progress. The highest print is from a copper plate that I abandoned because I left it in the acid too long and it etched too deeply, which meant that all of the tone printed as pure black. Very dramatic, but no use. The lower three are from another plate. I etched it until it printed quite dark, but wasn't as horrible as the first one, and I've been burnishing it gradually to bring out highlights and more interesting tones. Also, obviously, I used blue ink for the most recent proof. Maybe I'll go back to black, though.

Okay, in 2006 I didn't know how to take readable text photos with my camera.

Me & Rogue attended Katsucon together in 2006. You know there's something wrong with the con when I was much more interested in taking pictures of our fabulous historic hotel room than the con itself, haha. Anyway, we got a corner room which means we had two windows! It was a beautiful room and a beautiful hotel, but in my opinion, terrible place for a con.

Anywhoo, in the desk next to the bible, the room had a book about 101 historic hotels in America or something. I totally geeked out over it haha.

When I arrived at the Premier Classe departure lounge in Cape Town, I suspected that this train might be fancier than I had thought. As I put down my dirty green backpack with even dirtier rain cover, I spied most people with Louis Vuitton, Coach and other fancy bags. Even the kids had designer luggage. Further proof of fancy was this Ferrari Spider that was loaded on to the train. The owner teasingly told me that I had to pay for a picture. And that`s the closest I got to landing myself a rich South African husband ;)

Spent today colour proofing an upcoming project on press at Synergie UK. Big thanks to everyone for a thoroughly interesting day, learned so much!

So, I have participated in NaNoWriMo (or National Novel Writing Month) for the past three years. I won the first year, but never redeemed my proof copy. I failed the second year (blast those university papers!), and thus didn't get a chance then. But this year I won! And luckily I finished the first half of Maura in the Dark Room (a steampunk version of Rapunzel) in time...so even though it's not the whole novel, it's still properly divided. :) Also, Luke did the cover...isn't it lovely? The printer did it slightly crooked though, but I still love it.

Acid proof brick and plate are widely applied in petroleum, chemical industry, medicine-making, food, paper-making, chemical fertilizer, agriculture, pesticide, chemical fibre, textile industry, smelting, and power-generating plants etc., and anti-corrosion inner liner of tower, pool; pot, sinks, what’s more, it also plays leading anti-corrosion role in waste water treatment and open air working grounds. Acid-resistant ceramics can resist most media except hydrogen-arc acid, thermal alkali and thick alkali, and has better anti-corrosion effect in moist chlorasalt, hydrochloric acid etc. and any alkali under normal temperature. www.chinafirebrick.com/80Acid-Proof-Brick.html

a couple color schemes for a deck design for Proof Lab Board Shops.

We did go the the pillow fight, now they'll believe us! Doesn't hurt to take about 1000 photos of it, too.

This picture is proof that salting the water won't always help make fresh laid eggs peel more easily. The real trick is still to let the eggs get old.

I had to take this one, I just had to. I'll take a look at it whenever I'm having trouble with a proof, and make myself another cup of coffee. (Credit: I think the sign belongs to Arabica Coffee House.)

That the world is moving...

This is the most famous 'version' of Foucaults pendulum, the first visibile and easy-to-understand proof that the earth is constantly rotating. This 28kg heavy sphere hangs on a 67meter long wire from the top of the dome of the Pantheon in Paris.

Alyssa Biber's directorial debut! Dope cast, dope show! What more could you really ask for?? Congrats!

Vestigial nipple joy!

Here's photographic proof that Elder Hut does exist...and it's a lovely place! Rachel, Fledge and I had a great day and night there.

It was taken last weekend, Jan 15-16 2011, despite what the exif data says. My camera threw a hissy fit.

Bound proof of my new novel The Half-Child. This is NOT what the finished product will look like. Will check with Text about posting the cover design--it's stunning!

A friend got his Ludlow TYpograph up and casting, and made me a heavy chunk of slugs as a souveneir. He thought that they wouldn't print, because he's a novice as casting type slugs, but I decided to proof them and they print beautifully! Thanks David!
