Balance. What is balance?
My experience is that balance is sometimes hard to accomplish in life (if I have ever found it). To gain balance you have to let go of your fears. Be still inside. Listening. What does your heart tell you. Following what your heart tells you and act on that need takes a lot of courage. Often that what you need to find balance can be found one step beyond your comfort zone. Trust is everything, because the universe will take great care of you.
I totally love Val's photos from the desert. It was hard to convert to my surroundings though, me living in a big city. The only thing I could come up with was this minimalistic composition. I think I like it.
What and awesome day for me today!! Sold!!Fun and fab kit and die cuts from the digital Creative Memories Kits.
Day 4 - Inside the Sibelius Park, a huge stainless steel monument was built to honor the great nationalist composer Jean Sibelius. During the Russian period, his work "Finlandia" was actually illegal to play because of the patriotic stirring they prompted in the Finnish soul.
I found this bugger on my tomato plant and promptly smashed him and three of his friends. If any new ones show up, I'll apply some Bt. For now, I sprayed with pyrethrin because my local Lowe's didn't have Bt in stock. Darn big box stores.
Note: Upon further investigation, I learned that these caterpillars pass through five larval stages, called instars, before proceeding to the pupal phase and then moth phase. Based on the size, markings and coloration, this is probably a third instar larva.
Another update: Apparently, I misidentfied this caterpillar. It's actually a tobacco hornworm (Manduca sexta) and not a tomato hornworm (Manduca quinquemaculata). Tomato hornworms have eight white V-shaped markings on their side while tobacco hornworms have seven diagonal white lines.
I have finally discovered how to be flexible! This is HUGE for me because I have never been able to touch my toes. Not even when I was little and now I can!
I have been doing wii yoga every day to try and gain flexibility. I have had horrible back pain. Daily back pain. No idea what was causing it. My back hurt so bad it sent pain all the way down to my toes. I felt the constant need to stretch. It was overwhelming and as much as I stretched I couldn't fix it. I was going mad with pain and grabbed a scarf, put it around my foot and straightened my leg. I just hold my leg in the air with the scarf and it's such a nice stretch. It really helped the pain and I was able to sleep.
I ended up skipping yoga and woke up with no back pain. I then did yoga the next day and woke up with horrible back pain. Skipped yoga and no back pain. No more yoga for me. If you are stiff as a board I definitely recommend the scarf trick.

Spring boredom prompted me to visit some towns I actually never went to in New Jersey, Califon was one of them. While crossing the bridge, I noticed an old building with something painted on the side, I continued to investigate and finally found that the Painting was a dated advertisement for a company selling feed and farming supplies.
My 6 year old daughter decided today she wanted to join in. She's been off sick and is bored. I am hoping she will carry it on but not sure if she will once she goes back to school and has homework.......although this is MUCH more fun!!

In Stoke Newington Church Street Friday stopped. He stared long and hard at this pub sign. Suddenly, he decided to go into the pub. He singled out the biggest man in the room, put his arms around him and shouted "Dad!".
This proved to be a mistake.
I don't have any heritage photos of my own family yet (my mother's hogging them ;) and I'm not ready to scrap my MIL's photos, so I used one of the oldest I've taken. circa 1982

The photo prompts girlies are on holiday and have left a game to play. People take it in turns to put up a photo, the next person has to take a photo that begins with the last letter of the photo before. Confused??
The photo before this was 'Knight', so I got 'T', so I did 'Tea caddy'. Another one f my frogs!
