An unimportant little flowering weed living its life. I'd never have notice without a macro lens on my camera.

The prairies are looking good for early June. Last year the prairies were exceptional, and it's looking like this year is shaping up to be even better.
a perfect angel on the bridge of Sant'Angelo in Rome. The clouds seemed too tempting for not including them into this shot :)

I missed the Monarch butterfly's emergence. I now know given our recent temperatures and rainfall, the time between Monarch's pupa and butterfly is 16 days. You can see the pupa's case in the lower right of the image. The pupa that was on the siding is also now empty.
I had given up and was taking photos at the Nature Center in a light drizzle. In preparation for other yard work I noticed the fresh Monarch (Danaus plexippus). Yipee, so happy to have had one small success. Safe travels.
It's grey and misty here today and summer seems so far away. This old shot of a Mahone Bay shop display will help keep us going until then.

This week's Macro Monday theme is rings. I want to share the promise ring my husband gave me over 36 years ago while we were dating. It usually sits in my jewelry box because I don't often wear rings—arthritis has changed the shape of my fingers. However, I was happy to take it out today and showcase it in its best light. HMM!
Vestrahorn, Iceland.
Recent rain and cold temperatures froze black dunes at Vestrahorn in south of Iceland. But on this calm and sunny evening there is a promise of spring for a clump of dune grasses.

Tulip bulb shoots are beginning to pop up at the Lyman Conservatory. Almost as quickly as the Fall Chrysanthemum Show comes down, the Spring Bulb show set-up begins. The promise of Spring. :)
