..... and dubious medicinal uses. I have two of these Hellebore or Christmas Roses, this one much happier now joining the second one in a more shaded part of the garden.
Having a wander around a charity shop, the colours and textures of this necklace caught my eye. I have a wealth of jewellery already but was tempted and bought it.
It cost £1 and came with a matching bangle.

As promised, here is one more shot of this handsome critter. I could not resist showing both as it is not often I get this good of an encounter.
This ends this series of a morning at Elk Island National Park. Tomorrow, a big surprise, so big I don't even know what I'll post. With weather about to head straight into the deep freeze I may have to start hitting up the archives.

The promise of the sun coming through, and the strange dust clouds moving East, was just coming good. The prow of Whitmore Stairs headed off into the teeth of the oncoming storm. Reflections were superb in the wet sand , a perfect end to a great walk. Ship of promises, is by Villagers. Off to see Louise Redknapp in Cabaret today, should be fun:)))
