My theme was "Living with Nature", and I wanted to capture life and the structures of those who don't live in the suburbs or city, instead living in a remote area connected only by dirt roads for miles. While not totally disconnected from the creature comforts of modern life, it is a bit more simple and quiet. These photos were taken at Lake Pend Oreille in Idaho.

I thought it would be fun to take a photo with so many opposing angles.

What do you think?

How often do you see a cow in the CBD? I have know idea what this was for or about. But there was a cow in the city, so I had to take a photo of it. Plus it was standing up right and waving? Thats the great thing about mascots and people in costumes, their so easy to take photos of.

Today's theme is Pets. I have had many pets over the years. In fact, up until last year we had five pets - Hedgehog, Gecko, Bearded Dragon, African Water Frog and the cat. Now we're just down to the Bearded Dragon and cat.

This is my sometimes sweet but often bratty kitty Zoey. She is really more my daughter's cat but she somewhat tolerates the rest of us. I say she wasn't tolerating having her picture taken and kept on giving me the evil eye.

A project for a hot July day.

Completed in 2004, the Robert L. Beilman House is a nine-unit rental project with two accessible units designed to meet the needs of low-income people who experience chronic mental illness and have been homeless. Located on an infill lot in the Sherman neighborhood of Madison’s northside, the Robert L. Beilman House is a successful example of a moderately sized, attractive, mixed-use project. The project is located in a walkable neighborhood close to retail centers, with a city bus stop at its door and a major transportation hub just two blocks away. The mature trees and protected marshland were considered in the design to take advantage of the views as well as the shade, which lowers the cooling costs in the summer. The property also has many energy-efficient features, including windows and air filtration and lighting systems. Housing Initiatives, Inc. provides intensive property management that includes clinical and case management monitoring and coordination with service providers, if necessary. Tenants receive rental assistance through Shelter + Care or Section 8. Contributing to the project’s long-term affordability is a rather unique project financing feature through a 30-year, 2 percent homeless mortgage loan provided by the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA).

I'd brought my galley copy of Project: Romantic into the office and some plants I'm rooting seem to like it a great deal as well. The glimpse of seeing the two figures on the front through the leaves made me stop in my tracks and smile.

(By the way, it's a great book if you're interested!)
