My boss has worked in public service for thirty years. We bought her some flowers, in her favourite colour, to congratulate her.

Today, Linda and Dave took me looking for waterfalls. It was a lot of steep steps away from these three bridges (the bottom one was said to have been made by the devil) but it was a lovely walk.

The Farmworker Immersion Project placed students in the community to learn about farmworker rights and immigration issues. The students were guided through a first-hand experience of farm work life. They visited a local berry farm and learned about the agricultural business, then worked in the field and harvested berries.
I've spent the weekend packing. I'm about done.
One giant suitcase, one cabin bag.

And here's the finished doll!
May I present to you: Ninny, my first Blythe custom doll.
I had much fun customizing her and I guess she won't be the only Blythe here for a long time.
Hope you'll like her, too : )!
A flower pot, on clearance from Joann Fabrics, with a nice drainage hole to allow my wires to escape. I'm keeping the Arduino external and swappable, so that I can use it for other prototyping projects. When I have nailed the process for loading a program onto a microcontroller directly, I'll probably put that chip permanently inside the pot. For now, the wires need an exit hole.
After eight years living on a hill it is so nice to come home to a house on the flat, with no steps up to the house, to be able to walk through, straight out of the lounge into a flat garden and sit and enjoy a cup of tea and some crisps while I look at my plants and one of my kitty cats.

I got this gal off eBay for $85 shipped. I have nicknamed her Mint-tini! She is my moms Christmas present. My buddy Mouse in a Blouse will be helping me give her a hair treatment, new eyechips, pullrings, sleep eyes, eyeshadow change, face matting... Basically the works. She will also get a super fun wardrobe knit by me, and sewn by Mouse in a Blouse. Stay tuned for project updates!!!!
This photography was taken at Ponsonby road, Auckland, New Zealand. I saw this man waiting for the bus, he was looking back in forth as if a looking for someone to come around the corner. When I was near passing him the light light up his silhouette and his head suck that I had to press the shutter.

Mirabelle plums (as I discovered after asking in Flickr ID please and the Wellington Gardeners group on Facebook) from my friend's garden. I didn't realise how out of focus it was until it was too late to take another.

this small lemon plant has lived in our kitchen for a while now. we're still waiting for a decent sized lemon to come off of it. it keeps trying really hard, but they always fell off before coming to fruition. it looks like it might have one now that just might make it! :)

I begin this photo project on the dunes of my favorite beach, watching a drop of sun fall through the clear horizon. Driving to Buchanan beach after being let out of work early was a wonderful idea.
This next year should be rewarding as this project pans out. By starting this project in June, I will have the rest of the summer to practice techniques so that as school starts I will be prepared.
I don't really want to be weighed down too heavily with logistics in this project, but I'll make an effort to post a picture every Friday-ish.
The Pub, The Terrace, Wellington. Pub quiz night. We lost so we will be at the quiz at The Old Bailey next week.
