VISUAL LIBRARIES - Leave your Mark.

A collaborative, visual project which encourages you to sign out a Visual Library Book and ‘Leave Your Mark’.

A Visual Library Book is whatever you want it to be, a sketchbook, a journal, a diary, a notepad.

You can ‘Leave Your Mark’ in whatever way you want, ranging from drawing, writing, sewing, adding photographs, markings, printing and sticking. How you make your marks is entirely up to you. All we ask is that you have fun with the different themes.

45 Visual Library Books have been placed in Portsmouth Central Library and each has its own theme ranging from; Portsmouth, My City, When I Open My Eyes, Whilst I Was Waiting, Love, What’s in My Pocket and Memories. The intention is for you to feel free to explore the Visual Library Books and choose a theme that you like.

Poole

To the right of the Custom House you will see the Town Cellars. This is part of the Waterfront Museum and home of the Local History centre. The 15th century structure we see today stands on the foundations of an even older stone building dating from the 13th century or earlier. It was around this building that fighting raged in 1405 when the town was attacked by Spanish raiders in retaliation for HarryPaye, the famous Poole Pirate!

Over 1,200 blankets were made in total at this year's event. Great job team SALSA!

The Psychiatric Years

Description

The Cherry Blues Project, a two-people-project from argentina, was one of the first artists on Resting Bell. They are mainly known for more experimental music, field recordings, noise and improvisation. For their “new“ release on Resting Bell they did something you wouldn’t expect.

They recorded a folk record. “The Psychiatric Years EP“ is rescued material from TCBP, about 4-5 years old, compiled into two EPs. All the material is folk music. Songs with melodies and structures, mostly done with guitar and voice. The production sounds really noisy in some places. Hisses, background-noises, rough sketches of songs and ideas. A great meeting between traditional song-structures and a growning experimental background.

Keep your eyes open and watch out for part 2 of this recording.

A veces no sé si

quiero despertarme o seguir soñando. Sería como pellizcarse, como una comprobación.

La realidad está latente, el sueño también.

Algunas veces quisiera aturdirme un poco más

para saberme despierto. (...)

No sé, tal vez no importe...

I projected different artworks and images including my own work onto my maquette to create some interesting pieces of work. I used the projector to change the focus in some of these pieces, giving the shapes in the maquette a stronger contrast.

We've been coming to quiz night here at The Pub on The Terrace for a few years now. Tonight the quizmaster told us that The Pub has been sold and will be closing on Friday. Next week will be at The Five Stags. Each team was given an invitation to The Five Stags quiz night - the invitations were $50 bar tabs!
