The goal was to demonstrate the frozen motion technique. Freeman mentions using the elements within the picture to frame the subject and guide the eye, so I tried to frame the waterway with the greenery on the diagonal. I liked how this turned out because the moving water has a bit of a glassy look, which is expected in frozen motion for moving water on a surface. I adjusted levels, vibrance, and saturation.
Correcting the white balance fixed most of the color problems in the picture. Slight tweaks of the Exposure tool. use of the Strong Contrast curve and the straightening tool plus another small crop made this a bit more interesting I think. If not more interesting, it certainly looked better. :-)
WMSR 1309 arrives at Frostburg Station to let off it's passengers. The Thrasher Carriage Museum across the street had a double decker porch, and the staff there graciously let me weave through the stagecoaches on display to get access to the top one. Goal is for the "Frostburg" sign to be on the lower right cross, the engine going across the lower third line with the front on the lower left cross, the plume of smoke rising above along the left third line, and the treeline roughly on the top third line. The smoke was weirdly reflecting blue along the edges from the sky, making it look edited in, but I swear it's original.
