On May 12 it's ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day.

In 2019, on May 11, we did the theme 'Blue for You' for the first time in my group Smile on Saturday! :-).

The text I wrote at the time for that theme still stands... nothing has changed...

I am constantly in pain. Yes, constantly. Every single second.

The pain is still there when I don't talk about it.

The pain is still there when I am smiling.

The pain is still there when I am joking.

The pain is there as I write these words...

I'm exhausted from fighting my way through every single day.

I'm exhausted from trying to be stronger than I feel.

I'm exhausted from trying to hide my tears from the people I love...

But yet... it's LOVE that keeps me going.

It's LOVE that still makes me hope that one day...

I will feel alive again.

No photoshop, just REALLY expired polaroid film.

Provivid 689. I've had some questions about it. Never heard of it? Yeah, it's THAT expired. So old the cartridges are metal instead of plastic. And apparently if you shoot directly at the sun it solarizes the image.

The full moon sets over the Green River canyon from Grandview Point, Island in the Sky, Utah. The morning sky is beginning to brighten with sunrise, and the belt of Venus is clearly visible on the horizon while the cliffs take on an impressive red color. I did not saturate in post-processing at all.

With a heavy coating of our famous Lake Effect snowfall covering Northeastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, I made my way out trackside with no real plan in mind.

Turns out this day would be pretty productive, with catches of the AC&J shortline, CN's EJ&E heritage unit leading a CSX train, as well as some action over on the Bessemer & Lake Erie.

A rare run up the Girard Branch was enough to make me shift my focus that direction. Recently returned BLE 905 leads southbound over Locust Lane, and a beautiful snow scene to boot.

The more commercial activities, the more the buildings are going up in Metro Manila, Philippines

the macromonday theme for yesterday (7/23) was photographic gear and/or equipment-- this was an idea i had but didn't set up til late on monday, so i didn't use it then.

These images were taken at Ludington's North Breakwater Lighthouse, Lake Michigan, on Oct. 27th, 2010. A violent autumn windstorm created 21 foot waves that day, which slammed against this Great Lakes lighthouse. It certainly was a moving experience for me to witness nature's fury like this.

An exerpt from a regional Michigan newspaper:

Headline: Windstorm Creates Massive Waves

By Sharif Durhams of the Journal Sentinel - Oct. 27, 2010

The wind whipping across Lake Michigan is creating massive waves. The National Weather Service recorded a 21.7 foot wave Tuesday in the middle of the lake at a buoy east of Washington Island, weather service meteorologist J.J. Wood said.

The buoy also recorded a 20-foot waves early Wednesday.
