Producing a moody picture and how to get there, when you use one of your most spectacular photos from the past.

Europe, The Netherlands, Zuid-Holland, Rotterdam Zuid, Hillekop (slightly cut from T)

From left to right: the modernist Rijnhaven metro station (Gemeentewerken 1967, the neo-modernist ´1989´ (by Mecanoo, 1989), probably one of the last high-rise tenement buildings exclusively dedicated to affordable housing in Holland and the post-modernist UWV office building (OZP, 2009).

This is 793 of the Rotterdam Architecture album.

As mentioned in a comment on a previous photo in the series, these are generally pictures taken straight down on a grey cement floor. Colors appear during post-processing that depend in part on processing choices and in part on the quality of interior and exterior light on the scene. It didn't look like this when I saw it.

Thanks very much to all for the positive comments!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a blue day at Color my world Daily and the theme at Looking close on Friday is Progression in Size. As you can see, in my picture, I decided to go with few pencils since I have so many of those … in different colors and seizes. And, I must admit it is one of my favourite subjects. If you look at my progression in size from left to right it perfectly illustrates the state of my bank account. And if you look at it from right to left: you have the progression in size of my weight. Knowing that, I must :1) resist all the Black Friday’s temptations (FYI : once again this year it is a major fail for me, my Zara basket is full) and 2) not forgot to run my 10km today. See you later my friends !!

Mucho, mucho amor for you my friends !! Have a beautiful day !!!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !

Looking close... on Friday! ~ Progression in Size (2023/11/24)

Compilation of 9 Focus Stacked images.

Into the Light - Day 20 - Year 2022

--------------------------------------------------

Filtered this photo a great deal in Photoshop.

Snowed this morning and covered everything with at least 1-1/2 inches of fluff. Here, the Pampas grass, still bent from the last few days of battering wind, rested in arches with snow covering the horizontal sections. I added the light bands because I wanted it to feel like being in a field of snow.

Steps from basalt chunks (here a field stone) over crushed stone and gravel to basalt powder. Paving stones are laid on gravel, then fine gravel and the joints are filled with the finest grade of basalt flour.

At 2500 km², the Vogelsberg is the largest contiguous volcanic area in Central Europe. There are large basalt quarries here.

This is a repost, but I wanted to compare it to a later photo of Lola, side-by-side. I've been trying to discard photos, and happened to see this one then ran into the second one in a similar position.

I watch too many crime shows, but the first thing I thought of was when they formulate an age progression to see how a person would look at a later date.

This is a beautiful passage from a outdoors performance by the advanced teenage group of my dance school. I love seeing these girls growing up from year to year, and going from dedicated students to beautiful dancers.
