countdown to christmas quilt getting done!

“Life in frame” is a work in progress started in June 2007 which provides a frame on a stand as photographic subject. The frame is placed in cities crucial points (such as squares) or demonstrations (such as processions, parades and conventions).

The frame in this way becomes a decoy, leading to the spontaneous participation of the public with the photographer and therefore to the shot itself.

Who gets in contact with the frame is indeed the protagonist that freely shows his spontaneity and creativity: as a result we can see the establishment of his own spirit’s portrait.

Who decides to participate is attracted by the frame, which can be considered as part of a game that involves also those around him, that are looking at him and are taking pictures.

There aren’t any conventional or established rules explaining how to act or get closed to the frame.

Usually people tend to stay away from the unknown; in this case the frame created interest and a high desire to communicate through it and with the surroundings.

The participant is not only the subject of a picture, but he is actively taking part into a creative process, building together with the photographer a certain atmosphere and emotion.

I can't tell you how difficult it was to trim down the number of shots to post! These are the ones that give you the best progress through the demolition.

To make the several shades of brown stretch to fill the bunny I am swirling them together. Looks good!

The belly was the first part i worked, it got badly damaged while I learned and looked craptastic. After removing the bad yarn job I backed the holey part with more monks cloth and reworked it. Now it not only looks better it is more structurally sound. The bunny needs to be done today. Butterflys will be added at some point and then borders.

This is what I have done so far on my next queen sized quilt. It is raining this morning so I will probably spend the day in the sewing room.
