Photographed berthed at the East Quay in Newhaven Harbour, East Sussex on June 8th 2020 is the Portuguese registered general cargo ship Spanaco Progress. Built in 2007 and originally named Chyra the Spanaco Progress has a gross tonnage of 5581.
To help keep myself motivated, a visual of where I am, and where I have to go.
I also wanted to reassure myself of my color choices for Rosette Two.
Need to put these pieces together, then I can start with the vintage pattern, or better explained: adding the details.
So excited :3
Yes, miracles do happen... some progress has been made on the Vorne.
The diorama won't get done till next year now, but I want to get the damn tank finished before the end of the year.
Probably not the final placement of all the junk on the rear deck, and more will probably be added, but at least the tracks are done, as is most of the weathering

10 anos de FILE, 10 anos de eventos realizados na cidade de São Paulo, 10 anos de discussão sobre arte e tecnologia no Brasil.
1. NURBS (Non Uniform Rational Basis Spline) é uma técnica muito conhecida de computação gráfica para representar curvas e superfícies, e que segundo o teórico russo Lev Manovich, no texto inédito que abre o catálogo desta edição, pode ser a nova ferramenta para a teoria cultural do sec. 21 juntamente com outras ferramentas de computação gráfica e visualização de dados. Lev Manovich participará do FILE Labo Workshop, no Mezanino do Centro Cultural Fiesp - Ruth Cardoso dia 30/07, das 9h às 13h.
2. PROTO de “Protomembrana”, performance do artista catalão Marcel.lí Antunez Roca, que acontecerá na abertura do evento (27/07) e dia 29/07, no Teatro do SESI – São Paulo.
3. 4KT, a primeira transmissão transcontinental em superalta definição, que está será feita no mundo do longa-metragem “Enquanto a Noite não Chega”, com direção de Beto Souza, dia 30/07, às 19 horas, no Teatro do SESI – São Paulo.

1. NURBS (Non Uniform Rational Basis Spline) is the concept developed by Russian theoretician Lev Manovich in the unpublished text that opens this edition's catalog. Lev Manovich will participate in FILE Labo Workshop, at the Mezzanine of Fiesp - Ruth Cardoso Cultural Center, on July 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Awaiting parts yet still happy with progress - nose upper section is still a temporary structure so isn’t accurate to how it will be when complete. Electrics are complete at front with wiring to tidy.
The corset on it's way to being a real tightlace! It's working too. If nothing else atleast to motivate me. I've lost 9 lbs so far!
95% of the body repairs required have now been completed on Stockport 403, though there's still a little more painstaking work left removing blisters from the recessed steel window pans and paint removal from window rubbers. Flatting work has commenced to the panels which aren't to be replaced and a re-paint isn't far off. A replacement engine supplied with the bus has now been fitted and hopefully an MoT will soon be booked...
The bus last worked at Weston Super Mare on a sea front heritage service for Rexquote Heritage from Taunton, (which later became Quantock Motor Services.)
River Dargle Flood Defence Scheme.
These images were taken during the fourth week of September, 2016.
On a rare trip down to the Harbour area, just to check out progress here. Throughout the summer, this is where the heavy-duty engineering works have been taking place.
This is a section of the flood protection scheme that I have pretty much ignored -- it's inconvenient for me to access, and others cover it much better.
Check out 'Turgidson'.
Standing on an access bridge, adjacent to the Bray Boxing Club (from whence sprang Katie Taylor, and others of illustrious note), looking back up the river, towards the town direction.
In the foreground is the Railway bridge, and in the distance we can see some construction works taking place on the Ravenswell Road, temporarily closed due to on-going works.
That is the site of the old Bray Golf Club -- hotly contested as a (potentially) poorly considered site for a shopping centre development complex, and still an area of ground that has to act as a flood plain in the event of tidal surges.
The Irish Rail Bridge, Bray Harbour:
Phase 1 flood defence works to the Irish Rail bridge commenced in August 2016.
Phase 2 flood defence works will be completed during May to September 2017. This work is being undertaken directly by Irish Rail.
The work includes strengthening the integrity of the bridge by creating buttresses around the base of each pillar.
To do this they have to pile-drive sheets into the river bedrock.
The work is complicated by;
(a) the need not to damage or disturb in any way the actual bridge itself (Irish Rail train and DART carriages pass overhead on an hourly basis), (b) the confined spaces under the bridge, and (c) the twice-daily rising tides from Bray Harbour which spill upriver into the newly expanded basin.
To create proper foundations for the columns, the guys will have to drive steel piles deep into the bed of the river. Similar to work done elsewhere. Within that waterproof chamber, they'll set/pour concrete to build the columns.
The (future) pile driving work involves a sub-contractor using an excavator-mounted vibratory pile driver – possibly a ‘Movax’ model. That’s the combination they used in 2014 with the work opposite La Vallee.
Right now, they're in the preliminary stages of building work platforms around the stone buttresses of the Irish Rail bridge.
Metrolinx construction of Hamilton's GO rail station to connect Niagara to the GTA Lakeshore West track coridor.
Had this portrait been taken in 1964 rather than 2014, this indeed would have been Western Progress. By 1964, the ex-GW system north of Aynho Junction was firmly in the grasp of the rival London Midland region, but the Western had left it's mark.
Banbury's ramshackle wooden station had been replaced by a spanking new brick, concrete and glass structure in 1958, the King class locomotives were ousted from duty by Westerns and Warships, mark 1's and 2's were taking over from Great Western Clerestory stock.
50 years on and Banbury thrives. Chiltern Railways have considerable presence in the town as the Birmingham Mainline gains ever more traffic and riders. Even the locomotive hauled train survives with more to come as Chiltern increases it's use of the 67 hauled mk3 Silver sets on Birmingham services.
Still, it can never harm to review what's been and gone. And what better way than riding in a PV early mk2 with twin Maybach's providing the power?
The Chiltern Champion waits to head back to Marylebone with D1015 at the helm. Champion? I'll say...

And before anyone starts, I'm aware the Turbo unit behind wouldn't be there in 1964. It's a class 117 DMU really. Just use your imagination eh? :D
I've been busy making stars of various sizes. I really do hope my partner likes how this is going. The plan is to set the stars out in a fairly random layout similar to the photo but I need to decide whether to make any more stars. I was thinking perhaps a couple more fairly small ones. What do you think?

Lily and I were dismayed to see that one of our favourite forest walking paths has been cleared for an industrial park.
Made us both sad. Oh well, more exploring required!

Decades ago people attempted to create farmland out of the natural wetlands south of town. It was never successful and they have now become a source of pride in the community. At the same time, a highway meant to circle the town to relieve traffic was planned to cross this area, but was stopped by local opposition.
The end result was a road half constructed which ended in a bridge over the main highway sound but which leads nowhere.
Now there is attempts at compromise. Hundreds more acres have been allowed to return back to wetlands to compensate land which will be lost by the highway.
Will it be a win-win situation or a lose-lose situation is the question...
