Students in the MSOT program at WSSU have had a multi-year long partnership with the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission to provide services to the recipients of their program through multiple fieldwork experiences. We have been recognized for our outstanding contributions and service to this community organization. This past semester, a group of students worked with some of the participants in the program to plan a special social event that would pull together participants from several of the Rescue Mission programs. This was a project with an incredible outcome because the students helped the men to go from the conceptualization of an idea to a finished product, and they focused on and achieved major goals that the men have for their progress in this program. The organization is incredibly impressed with and thankful to the students and have invited them to their event. This would be a wonderful opportunity to showcase a WSSU outstanding community partners hip that is making a difference in the lives of men who have experienced homelessness and addiction.
