Working with "Professor Gadgeteer," here ably played by COSI educator Kyle Jepson, students identify the simple machines found inside windup toys through a live, interactive videoconference connection.
"Gadget Works: Simple Machines" strongly supports Ohio Academic Content Standards for Science, including Science & Technology, Scientific Inquiry, and Scientific Ways of Knowing.

U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Van McCarty, The Adjutant General for South Carolina, and Colombian Army Gen. Luis Navarro led their respective delegations through various South Carolina Military Department locations across the state, June 29, 2022. The events scheduled included visiting the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, McEntire Joint National Guard Base, Combined Support Maintenance Shop, 59th Aviation Troop Command Complex, 169th Fighter Wing, McCrady Training Center, and various components within the South Carolina Military Department. This key leader engagement between the South Carolina National Guard and the Colombian Military will review goals set forth during previous engagements, examine progress, and refine goals for the future. Bronze Star Medal Recipient Staff Sgt. (P) James Slough, the Harrisburg Opportunity Center assistant station commander, talks about how motivation and preparation has helped him have a successful career in the U.S. Army Sept. 30 during the discussion panel at the Youth and Education Services Career Day at the Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, Pa. Slough was chosen as the Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion’s Hometown Hero as part of the U.S. Army participation in the 27th Annual Toyo Tires National Hot Rod Association Nationals at the Maple Grove Raceway. The EPS Summer Arts Program this year went 'Under the Sea' for their theme and final performances held on Monday, July 21, 2017. This year the students were hosted by Victor Mravlag School #21. Nearly 400 students from throughout the district came together each day to receive enrichment in Visual Arts, which included Drawing, Painting, Ceramics and Photography, and Performing Arts, which included Band and Theater! Parents and family members were treated to an Art Gallery Walk, held in the school gymnasium and two performances by the Band and Theater group entitled 'Adventured Under the Sea' which were created and adapted by the students and staff! The two matinee performances were jam packed with families and friends and the program administrators, Dr. Mari Celi Sanchez, Principal of School #21, Ms. Tracy Monteiro, Supervisor of Visual Arts and Dennis H. Argul, Supervisor of Music, were very thankful and appreciative that Board Commissioner Ms. Caravalho and Board President Mr. Neron were also there in attendance in support of the students and program!
Next time you get the chance why not buy a crocodile from a bloke in the bush who takes eggs from nests and raises them for the skin man. Somewhere up or downstream, let it go. No harm in giving em' a leg up against the odds.

Victory Programs' Founder & President Emeritus, Jonathan Scott, retired after 43 years of serving some of the most vulnerable members of the Greater Boston community. During his four decades with Victory Programs, Jonathan oversaw the launch of dozens of innovative programs to address the needs of people in recovery from substance use disorder, people living with HIV/AIDS, and individuals and families facing homelessness. On May 30, hundreds of agency friends, personal friends of Jonathan, current and former staff, and agency alumni gathered to celebrate Jonathan's many successes and wish him well as he starts the next chapter of his life.
