ELYSIAN PARK - The nearly 90 graduates who actively participated in the Los Angeles Fire Department's Fire and EMS Magnet Program at four local high schools, were feted by Fire Chief Kristin Crowley, LAFD leadership, Los Angeles Unified School District and civic leaders, at the program's graduation ceremony on May 18, 2024 at the LAFD Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center in Elysian Park.
Joining friends and family in cheering the program graduates from James Monroe, Phineas Banning, Susan Miller Dorsey and Woodrow Wilson High Schools, Chief Crowley applauded each of the participants for their teamwork and commitment in completing the highly structured pathway, which offers the necessary academic, physical and life skills vital to a future fire service career.
She also highlighted the special achievements and leadership of four young women who actively served as the Chiefs of their respective schools' Fire and EMS Magnet Programs.

The Canon AE-1 Program is a 35 mm single-lens reflex camera that uses Canon's FD mount lenses. It was introduced in 1981 as the successor to the Canon AE-1, five years after that camera's introduction. The major difference was the addition of the Program AE mode first seen in the A-1 (wiki)
El programa El Drago de la Cadena SER que dirige y presenta Evaristo Quintana se ha realizado desde las instalaciones del Parque Científico y Tecnológico del Campus Universitario de Tafira. El programa ha contado como tema conductor con las nuevas líneas de Guaguas Municipales al Campus y ha contado con la presencia del Rector de la ULPGC, José Regidor García, y del Concejal de Guaguas, Angel Sabroso. The Seabiscuit program took place on August 2003 at Countryside.
Seabiscuit's former jockey lives locally and he described the world of thoroughbred racing in the 1930s when Seabiscuit was the “all-star” of all time. He shared a scrapbook filled with his racing career highlights and shared many memories. The library was filled to capacity that day.

A few months ago there even was a sign on the door of Hamilton Library for the LIS Program area. The interiors of the LIS Program's space are nearly complete, but electricity and fire alarms need to be installed.
Secretary Landgraf told the graduating class of the Delaware Psychiatry Residency Program on June 12 at Buena Vista that “I am gratified that you have spent your four years with us preparing to become psychiatrists with a focus on community psychiatry and public service.”
The program, which is coordinated through DHSS’ Delaware Psychiatric Center, has been existence since 1950. It is the only psychiatry program in Delaware that trains physicians to become psychiatrists. Last year, the residency program received more than 800 applicants for five slots.
Family members, friends, and colleagues celebrated the graduates of the Class of 2015:
Dr. Mustafa Mufti, who is joining the University of Pennsylvania’s Forensic Fellowship Program, and will continue to do work at DPC.
Dr. Adeel Nasir, who has accepted a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Rochester.
Dr. Faria Khan, who will be working as an inpatient psychiatrist at Hampton Behavioral Health Center in Cherry Hill, N.J.
Dr. Fatima Siddiqui, who will join the Child Fellowship Program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
Dr. Iman Parhami, who will join the Child Fellowship Program at Johns Hopkins University.
In addition to their work at DPC, participants in the residency program also do work across the state in office-based settings, street-based outreach, home visits, an emergency psychiatry setting, and mental health clinic.
The residency program, which is directed by Dr. Imran Trimzi, has 14 slots. Two additional spots are expected to be funded soon. Many of the recent graduates have returned to practice in Delaware at some point in their professional careers, Dr. Trimzi said.
“My hope is that all of you will – at some point – come back to Delaware to practice,” Secretary Landgraf urged the graduates in her keynote address. “We need you here.”
