UI Health Care STEM Education partnered with UI Orientation Services in hosting an interactive STEM experience for siblings of future freshman at University of Iowa. Students had the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look at the newest MRI Research Facility and learn about how it works and what it is used for.
University of Iowa Health Care is committed partners with formal and informal educators and community organizations across the state to advance STEM literacy to inspire the next generation of health care professionals and build a foundation for children to understanding their own health. In FY2015, more than 16,000 school age children were engaged in hands on learning provided by 260 faculty, staff and students.

Brighter Bites is a collaborative effort designed to improve access to healthy, affordable food and provide nutrition education. The University of Texas School of Public Health, KIPP Schools, the Houston Food Bank and Texas Children's Hospital have partnered to offer the 16-week program to third-grade children enrolled at KIPP Explore Academy and their parents. As you can see from the photos, those healthy kale smoothies are a hit!
The Caux Scholars Program is a one-month academic program which teaches students to identify and analyze conflicts, as well as to use practical methods to diffuse conflicts through global disciplines in conflict prevention, negotiation, development studies, legislation and policy, transitional justice, etc.

I made four layer programs, with a black backing, wrapped over the top. I secured them with different colored ribbons - which coordinated with our wedding colors (black, hot pink and lime green). The inspiration was the program from my friend Juliana's wedding.

Hosted by Virginia National Guard Family Programs, the four-day event included programs designed to develop leadership skills, build resiliency, and identify and offer recommendations on issues National Guard Youth currently face. During a Native American history-themed sleepover at the National Archives in Washington, DC, 101 kids and their grown-ups spent the night enjoying history-related activities, learning from special guests actor Martin Sensmeier, Jim Thorpe historians Bob Wheeler and Flo Ridlon, and Native American storyteller Perry Ground. After sleeping over night in the Rotunda, participants enjoyed a pancake breakfast made by the Archivist of the United States, David S. Ferriero, on October 14, 2018.
