Inside front cover and introductory page of the 1937 souvenir program for the Cotton Makers Jubilee. The inside cover contains two advertisements: the top 1/4 page was taken by A. Schwab, 163 Beale, "better goods at better prices" and the lower 3/4 page by Mid-South Refrigerator & Appliance Co. 206 Hernando Street, billing itself as "Memphis' Only Colored Appliance Store."
The introduction to the 1937 program recounts the history of the Cotton Makers Jubilee, which was founded by Dr. R.Q. Venson as the "Cotton-Makers Fiesta" in 1936, featuring a parade, a play about African American accomplishments, and a grand ball at which W.C. Handy performed as guest of honor. The name was changed to Cotton Makers Jubilee in 1937, and it became the African American counterpart to Memphis's Cotton Carnival. The objective of the "Memphis Cotton-Makers (sic) Jubilee as set out here" is to symbolize the great and important part which the colored people of this area have played in the history of cotton . . . it marks one of the first times in the history of this area . . . that colored and white Memphians and Delta citizens have been united in a common program for the advancement and development of their common home community--the Deep South--the cotton belt."
I have to keep reminding myself that I wanted the "Stuff On My Screen" to be a completely random dump on whatever was going on at the time, regardless of whether it was looking good at the time or not maybe I'll put some sort of automatic system in place when I get some time.

Mentorship program succeeding

6-52 Air Defense Artillery
SUWON AIR BASE — Female Soldiers in the 6th Battalion, 52nd Air Defense Artillery met in Suwon Gym for the unit’s female mentorship program.
The training began with education on sexual assault prevention and response, followed by light stretching and upper body exercising.
First Lt. James Eide, who led the mentorship session, conducted a class on Cross fit, combining several exercises. Before doing the cross fit, he taught them theory about how to do exercise efficiently and when is the good time for exercise. He also taught about nutrition, explaining ways to maintain and improve health by dividing nutrition into fat, protein, vitamin, and mineral categories. After the classroom instruction, a workout followed.
Private First Class Nancy Cumberledge found the training worthwhile, and especially liked its emphasis on life values and good health.
Th mentorship programs aims to help women of 6-52 navigate their careers and guide them in successfully combining full-time careers with satisfying personal and family lives.

As many of you may know, my mom had been battling breast cancer for several years. She took ill in September, and I went up to visit. I was glad I did, for I was able to spend just a tad shy of a week with her before she left this earth.
This is the inside of the program I designed using one of my photos for her services.
Since my mom loved my photos and was always happiest receiving homemade things from her 5 children and numerous grandchildren, I was honored to create the memorial pamphlets and slideshow.
I love my mom dearly and she is already greatly missed.
The Serenity Prayer was her favorite....

Every 15 Minutes program teachers students how dangerous drinking and driving could be. Program is sponsored by grant from CHP.
During a Native American history-themed sleepover at the National Archives in Washington, DC, 101 kids and their grown-ups spent the night enjoying history-related activities, learning from special guests actor Martin Sensmeier, Jim Thorpe historians Bob Wheeler and Flo Ridlon, and Native American storyteller Perry Ground. After sleeping over night in the Rotunda, participants enjoyed a pancake breakfast made by the Archivist of the United States, David S. Ferriero, on October 14, 2018.
Finally finished and working. This is my custom designed and built Programmable Pulser. It's based on a 246 core, but with changes to make it easier to source the parts. The LEDs are real pretty. Like a Christmas tree. What's great about this is that there is a pulse out and pulse in on each step. So there is no need for a reset input. Any step can be the start and any one can be the end. A row can be fed into the stage 1 pulse input to make a reset row. The analog input sweeps between steps with a 0-15 volt CV.

Hermosillo, Sonora, 15 de noviembre de 2013.- En el marco de la aplicación en Hermosillo del programa Rescate de Espacios Públicos, vecinos de la colonia Luis Donaldo Colosio recibieron la visita de personal del Ayuntamiento, encabezados por el director de Desarrollo Social, Edmundo Briseño Valenzuela.
La cancha deportiva ubicada en las calles Luis Donaldo Colosio y Nuño de Guzmán, se convirtió en sede de una fiesta popular ambientada con música viva, en la cual el funcionario municipal presentó a los vecinos las opciones que el Gobierno Municipal tiene a su disposición para una vida sana y un entorno seguro y agradable donde crezcan sus hijos.
“Éste es un programa que se llama Rescate de Espacios Públicos, operado por la Dirección de Desarrollo Social en coordinación con la Secretaría de Desarrollo Agrario, Territorial y Urbano, en el cual se involucran actividades de formación de valores para los niños, talleres, eventos como el de ahora, donde se trata de integrar a las familias”, explicó Briseño Valenzuela.
En el caso de los menores, dijo, “se trata de alejarlos de los vicios y las tentaciones que hay fuera, en la calle, y para eso estamos trabajando intensamente por instrucción de nuestro alcalde, Alejandro López Caballero”.
A cargo de Iveth Ortiz corrió la invitación para que las vecinas del sector se integren a las clases de zumba, en esa misma cancha a partir del próximo miércoles a las 17:00 horas, mientras que Alberto Rodríguez, integrante de los Centros de Apoyo en la Formación de Valores (CAFV), invitó a los niños asistentes y a sus padres a formar parte de este proyecto formativo y de activación física.
“Manejamos deportes como volibol, basquetbol, futbol y taekwondo, y estamos en 35 sitios diferentes en Hermosillo”, expresó, a la vez que les informó que los CAFV más cercanos a su sector se ubican en las colonias San Bosco, Gómez Morín, Ladrilleras y La Cholla.

The different spaces (world, eye, view ,etc etc) were doing my head in, but I got it working in the end, everything is in local space, which means.. something, but it looks the same as what I knocked up in RenderMonkey, so I'm happy.
It needs good normals, otherwise the reflections look a bit too wonky (not in a good way), but I plan on using it on a manually/programmatically generated object, so I'll just make sure I do.
Now I just have to convert it to HLSL as Ogre seems to run DirectX quite a bit faster than OpenGL.
Never though I'd be touching any of the DirectX pipeline, but as long as it is just a shader or two it should be quick to get up and running on OpenGL again.
