Young people from the START Programme at Lisburn YMCA had a day of media training and research workshops exploring the media, perceptions and portrayals of young people. The day was facilitated by Include Youth's communications officer Sharon Whittaker and QUB's Dr Faith Gordon, who is involved in an ESRC knowledge exchange project.
A partir de croquis sur nature, les étudiants doivent en tirer des Patterns (végétaux), les découper sur différents fonds (frottages, coloriage, photographie...) afin de créer une installation dans l'espace de l'école.

An ethically sound research programme, in which people hang to a rope let out from the boat, which drifts without a motor. The whales are fascinated by the people drifting through the water and spend hours playing around us and being curious. We don't chase them - they approach the boat and choose to interact. Arranged with "Eye to Eye Encounters".
It was an amazing experience - except I got seasick in the water as it was pretty rough when we were drifting. The whales sometime hang around for 6 or 7 hours and we drifted 22 nautical miles. We had 11 around us at one point. Have a look on the website.
Part of a beermat marketing exercise I saw whilst in north Wales on Pauls' stag do. The beer mat is pushing a new programme 'A470' [a road that cuts across Wales] on S4C [Welsh Channel 4]. The flip side of the mat is here.
I like it - the illustration is great. I wish I'd kept the whole set of characters. It has added resonance because I got hideously lost on the A470 and resorted to asking strangers directions in the dark - only to get more lost. It's weird in north Wales.
