As a part of its "Rise Up: Stonewall and the LGBTQ Rights Movement" exhibit-focused, yearlong, program series, The Newseum hosted "A Conversation with Judy and Dennis Shepard,” on Dec. 6, 2018.
The Shepards talked about the Matthew Shepard Foundation, an organization which honors their son, whose tragic murder in 1998 brought national attention to hate crimes.
Hoover High School held a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Kickoff at the Science Center of Iowa on November 1st. A STEM presentation about the program was given to 9th graders who are beginning the program. In the presentation, a study emphasized that demands of STEM related jobs in Iowa. After prizes were handed out to students, a Science Center presentation about fire and ice entertained the audience.

Amazon number 1 best selling author of Child Free Happily Ever After Tanya Williams was hosted by QRC for a Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) Lunch and Learn event.
By day, Tanya is a digital visibility specialist, digital trainer and manager and by night an advocate to change the dialogue in society from judgment and criticism to support and acceptance of men and women without children.

•ways to support childfree people and why including in formal program make a good business case.
