Second version of the PF powered train, controlled by an Mindstorms EV3.
In the previous version, it was not possible to access the charging plug at all. Making it impossible to recharge the battery.
In this version, this problem has been solved. The access to the charging plug is now under the easy-to-remove roof of the train.

For the second consecutive year, The Pointe residents have corresponded with several elementary classes as part of our Pen Pal Program. At the end of the school year, a group of residents visit the school and meet the children they have been sending letters to. The children were just as excited as the residents to finally meet. One class read stories to the residents and another gave a presentation on jaguars. The program is one of our most successful and popular among our residents and they are already looking forward to school starting in the fall. Not sure the kids feel the same about that though!

Presented by Friends of the High Line, the Trains on Film Series glamorously plays off the history of the High Line, which once carried freight trains delivering dairy, meat, produce, and other goods into the warehouses and factories on Manhattan’s West Side.
The series includes the debut of the new short film, All Aboard!, as well as revival screenings of Some Like It Hot and Strangers on a Train.
This High Line Program is free and open to visitors of all ages. No RSVP required. For more information about the Trains on Film Series, visit www.thehighline.org.

The chair is a non-functional art piece which has been painstakingly covered in breakfast cereal with a large paper maché bowl as the centerpiece. We were directly inspired by the breakfast program initiative, the colour of the cereal, and the idea that all kids deserve a good start. The project was done as a group design project. We really loved working together – and eating the odd fruit loop! Do not consume!! This chair is covered with a water-based polyurethane.

Teaching program in La Serena Chile: William Zeller is our latest volunteer in Chile, he is doing a 4 week program at one of our primary schools. He also is taking Spanish Lessons (4 hours a day), great work William, for what our local coordinator has told us the students will miss you once the program is over.
Our Ascension Mk1 lifter failed to achieve orbit on its own so a second stage will be needed to push the payload into orbit, which will be achieved hopefully by the Viklun engine, seen here shortly after arriving in the VAB
