Governor Charlie Baker, Lt. Governor Karyn Polito and Secretary of Housing and Economic Development join Brockton Mayor Robert Sullivan and local legislators to announce the launch of a new $75 million grant program to support Massachusetts small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic at Luanda Restaurant & Lounge in Brockton on Feb. 23, 2022. The new program is part of the plan to spend $4 billion in American Rescue Plan funding that was signed into law by Governor Baker in Dec. 2021, and the new program is modeled after Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation’s successful COVID-19 small business relief program. Under that effort, which became the biggest state-sponsored business relief program in the nation, MGCC oversaw the distribution of approximately $705 million to more than 15,000 small businesses across Massachusetts. Volunteer in Colombia Cartagena October 2013 - Johanna Ramberg, Ruth Aschmann - Child Care Center and Child Support Programs - This program is a public facility that provides daily child care services, pre-school and kindergarten classes to small babies and children in this Torices neighborhood in north Cartagena. This center is located close by to downtown and only 10 minutes from the airport.
Volunteers will care and support the daily influx of children, all of whom range from 18 months to 5 years old. The program has a nutrition program, where they provide a daily meal (lunch) to the kids. Volunteers feed the kids, helping with pre-school lessons, play games, help in the kitchens.
UAH 15 billion will be reallocated to the eRecovery state program for internally displaced persons. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities.
“We already have a decision to allocate UAH 15 billion to eRecovery for IDPs. Unfortunately, this will not help everyone. But we can already allocate these funds this year. It will cover approximately 10,000 households and at least 30,000 people. The Government will explore options for securing additional funding,” the Head of State said.
Certificates for the purchase of housing will be issued to internally displaced persons who lost their homes as a result of the Russian aggression.
Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Vereshchuk noted that housing is the primary need of internally displaced persons and veterans. She added that more than UAH 10 billion has been allocated to support veterans' families in this area.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration – Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba additionally emphasized that the priority of the Ministry is to provide housing for those who need it most. To date, more than 10% of the housing stock has been destroyed or damaged. Nearly 2 million families have lost their homes, and more than 4.6 million Ukrainians have become internally displaced.
In addition to implementing the eRecovery program, next year the Ministry for Development will launch a pilot initiative to expand social housing, which will provide accommodation for at least 50,000 Ukrainians in its first phase.
