En la cancha de uso múltiple de la Unidad Educativa 5 de Mayo, se realizó un programa especial de integración de las personas con discapacidad del Proyecto Chone Incluyente, ejecutado mediante convenio entre el Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado (GAD) Municipal y el Gobierno Provincial de Manabí (GPM).
El proyecto acoge a 175 Personas con Discapacidad (PCD) y son atendidos por siete promotoras de la Coordinación de Asistencia Social del GAD Municipal.
Durante la jornada de integración y recreación, hubo la presentación del grupo de danza de la escuela especial Unidos Venceremos. Además de varios concursos. Participaron del evento las reinas del cantón, funcionarios municipales, familiares de las personas con discapacidad, entre otras.
El alcalde del cantón Chone, Deyton Alcívar Alcívar, felicitó a las promotoras que trabajan diariamente con este grupo de personas, ya que sin ellas no fuera posible el resultado que se está obteniendo y cumplir con el mandato de la Constitución, sobre el Buen Vivir y Chone es ejemplo de ese arduo trabajo, emprendido durante su administración en cada uno de los programas sociales, culturales, deportivos, entre otros.

Newly-recruited Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers train on basic Soldiers skills during a combined training event as part of the Virginia National Guard’s Recruit Sustainment Program Oct. 20, 2018, at Camp Pendleton State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The RSP aims to increase troop readiness by teaching new Soldiers the basics of military service before they ship to Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training. During a Native American history-themed sleepover at the National Archives in Washington, DC, 101 kids and their grown-ups spent the night enjoying history-related activities, learning from special guests actor Martin Sensmeier, Jim Thorpe historians Bob Wheeler and Flo Ridlon, and Native American storyteller Perry Ground. After sleeping over night in the Rotunda, participants enjoyed a pancake breakfast made by the Archivist of the United States, David S. Ferriero, on October 14, 2018.
The 2015 Youth and Mentors Film Program was a filmmaking workshop that brought together youth and the people they look up to in their community. They collaborated to produce these powerful short films, and were featured in a short documentary. The program was made possible with the support of the Peel Regional Police, The Journey Neighbourhood Centre, and the Province of Ontario.

The Dorland-Bell school for girls in Hot Springs was combined with the Asheville Farm School in 1942 to create the Warren Wilson Vocational Junior College. Helen Hickman came from Dorland-Bell and continued teaching weaving until the late '50s
High School Programs Summer Link to College: As one of VIP's most popular programs, Summer Link to College has continued to provide students with a taste of college life. Summer Link is a five-day college experience. Summer Link is a five-day college experience. Students entering their junior year of high school live on the DU campus and participate in a number of college activities. During the summer of 2007, forty-two students from several local high schools joined eleven Summer Link coordinators for an exciting week at the University of Denver. This past summer, VIP expanded the program to include high school students from Abraham Lincoln, Denver Center for International Studies, Denver School of Science and Technology, Denver West, and Pinnacle Charter School. To make Summer Link a true college experience, students participate in a mixture of academic and social activities. For the academic portion of the program, students attended one of three classes taught by DU professors, English, Natural Science, or Web Design. In addition to taking classes, students also participated in workshops that included: presentation skills, health and fitness, and relationships. The Summer Link students also had opportunities to attend cultural events. The most popular event was dinner at Buca Di Beppo, a local Italian restaurant, and attendance at a theatre production of "The Little Mermaid."Based on the response of the students, Summer Link was particularly special this past summer due to the eclectic mix of different schools. Having a college experience with people from different schools allowed the students to create new friendships, which have strengthened throughout the school year. The program has helped to develop these friendships by offering workshops for the students during the school year. This upcoming summer, the program will expand to include additional students and new workshops. To insure its success, the Summer Link program will continue to look for ways to create the ultimate college experiece for students in the future. âPablo Moreno and Ana Rodriguez
