Sustainable coffee practices Mexico

Sustainable coffee practices Mexico

Photographer: Graciela Zavala (needs no credit / RA staff)

Exchange of experiences in the sustainable coffee finca "La herradura" in Veracruz, 2019.

A great experience for coffee and cacao farmers from Chiapas to improve their practices and take care of the environment.

This activity was part of the "Alliance for Sustainable Landscapes and Markets" strategy with USAID in Mexico.

U.S. Department of Agriculture, USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, APHIS, Plant Protection and Quarantine, PPQ, Montana State Plant Health Director Gary Adams is meeting with livestock producer and People's Partner for Community Development (PPCD) Community Facilitator Peggy Fredericks on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, in Southeastern, MT, on July 16, 2021.

The Cheyenne lease rangeland to ranchers to graze their cattle. For several years there has been a pest problem with grasshoppers. Fredericks said that there were so many that the ground would just hop. The plants were eaten down to just a stub. Last year, USDA APHIS PPQ was contacted for assistance. Adams was able to assist them in getting funding to suppress the grasshopper population that was eating away their forage plants. She says that they (USDA) got right on it, and approximately 50,000 acres of land were suppressed in a timely fashion. With APHIS's help, the natural rangeland plants grew back, and lease operations continue. Because suppression was applied early, the grasshoppers were not able to mate and lay eggs, which greatly reduces the population for some more years. Suppression was kept away from residential areas, cropland, bodies of water, waterways, and any area that might produce health and safety concerns. Bees, butterflies, and similar insects are not significantly affected by the suppression. Adams says we intend to keep the stewards of the land, on the land. Especially our Tribal partners.

Super-producer Stir Crazy has stamped his imprint on the music scene since 2003. His production has helped create career defining hits for artists such as Potluck, D12, Bizzy Bone, Toxsick, Kamal, Tre LB, SOL, T.O.N.Ez, The Insane Clown Posse and many others. Respected beyond the genres of hip hop and urban music, Stir Crazy, has also been sought by superstars and underground legends whose music needs a new edge.

Born Jesse Elliott in Detroit, Michigan on December 23, 1986, Stir Crazy has had many reincarnations-- from a partnership in the label Super Phat Productions, and involved in a super group which consists of Dood Computer (of Doom Fist) and Himself.

Chop Shops smash hit single ‘Heart”, and Kamal’s debut cd Certified produced by Stir Crazy, introduced a unique style that defined the new wave of music in the years too come. Hip Hop and R&B with crazy effects held together by complex drum patterns. Death B4 Dishoner a group consisting of Lokey, T.O.N.Ez and Stir Crazy proved Stir Crazy could step out his normal boundaries and do heavy metal and rock production.

Recently he has helped form and in a music group with Dood Computer from Albany, New York and about to release there new upcoming album. The reason this album is getting so much attention is because of the marketing. It is coming out on cassette tape only.

Stir Crazys sound is unexplainable, and meant to be listened to, not read….

His partnership with fellow producer Tre LB, has spanned the untouchable label Super Phat Productions, and there trademark sound has spawned numerous imitators in the Detroit area. Still known as the originators of the new wave of Detroit sound when it comes to hip hop and R&B music.

Along the way he built a impressive arsenal of studio equipment, and worked/works at many studios in Detroit where he does most of his production. He regularly travels between his home studio and other studios around the area and other states working on many projects.

Stir Crazy’s genre breaking has changed music today and he takes pride in his success at staying ahead of the game with his experimentation and originality. Hard working and confident, his goal is to always stay ten steps ahead of the competitors while making fans not only hear but ‘feel’ music.

One thing Stir Crazy has on his side, other than incredible talent, is visibility. He has been featured on numerous websites as well as print.. He has been seen on several DVD’s, and he has a role in a feature film, Zombie Prom.. Then there are his numerous other appearances and accomplishments. He was named producer of the year by Juggalo News by voting of fans. The acknowledgment came as a surprise, he got a message that he was going to be featured, and there he was, without having to submit anything about himself. The word is out!

“You can accomplish any dream or goals in life, with hard work and confidence” says the dedicated Stir Crazy. Innovator of sound which continues to set new standards, while always expanding his musical palette.

Nils Frahm (born 20.9.82) is a German musician, composer and producer based in Berlin. He is known for combining classical and electronic music, and for an unconventional approach to the piano, in which he mixes a grand piano, upright piano, Juno 60, Rhodes and a drum machine and Moog Taurus without using any loops or playbacks.

As well as his solo work, Frahm has released collaborations with notable performers such as Anne Müller, Ólafur Arnalds and F.S. Blumm.

Frahm had an early introduction to music. His father, Klaus Frahm, was a photographer who also designed covers for ECM Records. He grew up near Hamburg where he learned the styles of the classical pianists as well as contemporary composers.

Frahm's earlier solo piano works Wintermusik (2009) and The Bells (2009) gained him attention, but it was his 2011 release Felt that was met with critical acclaim. It was his first studio album on Erased Tapes, who have been releasing his music since. The album was followed by the solo synthesiser EP Juno and by Screws (2012) – recorded while Frahm was recovering from a thumb injury, and offered as a free download to fans on his birthday. His follow up to Juno, titled Juno Reworked (2013), featured guest reworks by Luke Abbott and Chris Clark.

Frahm's latest album, Spaces (2013), was made of live recordings from various venues spanning over two years.

In December 2013 Frahm released his first music book, Eins, published by Manners McDade.

In 2014 Frahm announced his new piano UNA CORDA, specially designed and made for him by David Kalvins. The piano weighs under 100 kg and has one string rather than the commonly used three strings.

A condensed version of his single More has been featured in the Assassin's Creed Unity unity gamescom trailer

I was born in 1989 in Estonia.

I have Estonian citizenship but a Danish father. I have lived in different countries (Estonia, Russia, Sweden and Denmark) because my father was a diplomat.

I became an author as a result of the passing of my mother who died of cancer in 2006 after seven years of illness.

Who am I?

I believe I am a friendly guy. I would personally say that I have no humor. Though I think people around me would say that is debatable. I have a passion for learning and trying out new things. People might find me punctual at times. I have a tendency to appear at least one hour before the start of the meeting.

It started from these extra classes of French I took while I visited my father and my little brother in Brussels (Saint Job). Apparently from Saint Job there were only two trains I could pick either to come two hours before or then 5 minutes late. I picked the first alternative.

About True Story of Dracula:

True Story of Dracula is a horror book. It is written as if Dracula had existed. So it starts with Vlad III, from his early childhood, and tries to give him a character one can relate to, until the moment he was killed and how he was transformed into Dracula. How Dracula was and acted among his fellow humans. Not to forget how he managed to stay hidden for all those years.

Then we begin with the main plot of the book, a class from California traveling to Romania on a research trip. As they are to discover it turns from a research trip to a getaway trip.
