They say "Prodigies" are born once in a blue moon; but when they do arrive, the hallowed grounds reverberate in their honor. The irony is, with their congenial talents, the often bring dreaded disabilities, physical and psychological ailments that render their 'human' life a bane to live.
I came across this autistic boy while on a photowalk organized by BUET-Photographic society. The little guy seemed to have an uncanny skill with the glass ball he was playing with. That alone would not deem him as a "Prodigy" off-course, but at that nick of the moment his glassy athletics seemed phenomenal. It was unfortunate to know that he had *neural conditions that made him unable to think in the twisted 'human' way we all do.
Sometimes I think, mediocrity ain't all that bad.
The Ford Prodigy was a low emission vehicle 72 mpg-US (3.3 L/100 km; 86 mpg-imp) diesel-hybrid concept car launched in 2000 and aimed at establishing U.S. leadership in the development of extremely fuel-efficient (up to 80 mpg-US (2.9 L/100 km; 96 mpg-imp)) vehicles while retaining the features that make them marketable and affordable. It was introduced at the North American International Auto Show, as part of the Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles with the rest of the 'Big Three' automobile
manufacturers and the US Government.

La Catedral de Tampico, dedicada a la Inmaculada Concepción, es el principal templo católico de la ciudad de Tampico. Está ubicado frente a la plaza de armas, en el centro histórico de la ciudad.La erección del templo de la catedral de Tampico no se llevó a cabo, sino hasta el año de 1841, cuando la primera piedra fue colocada el dia 9 de mayo. El proyecto original del templo fue realizado por Lorenzo de la Hidalga, quién se encargó de la obra en el año de 1850.
De lo levantado por De la Hidalga, poco quedó en pie (lo mismo ha sucedido con muchas de sus obras), ya que en el año de 1917, el edificio sufrió el derrumbe de su nave central; y para el año de 1922, la torre poniente fue derrumbada por un rayo que le cayó.
Tiempo después, con el patrocinio solicitado a diversas personas importantes del a ciudad, principalmente al magnate petrolero Edward L. Doheney, se reconstuye el templo, tal y como lo conocemos hoy en día, respetando parte del trabajo original; no así sucedió con el interior, que se remoza y decora competamente en el estilo Art Decó, al gusto de la época.
El templo
De tres naves y planta de cruz latina. Tiene una cúpula gallonada en gajos con linternilla. Las bóvedas son de estilo románico. Las torres se componen de tres cuerpos, con columnas pares estriadas de estilo corintio en cada esquina. Cada torre, en su base, presenta un nicho que aloja una escultura.
La portada principal [editar]
De estilo neoclásico, tiene tres puertas, cuyos dinteles simulan arcos de medio punto. Están fanqueadas por columnas pares estriadas de estilo corintio, que terminan en un friso.
El frontón triangular del frontspicio tiene un mosaico a la manera bizantina, con la figura del Cristo Pantocrátor (Cristo Todopoderoso). A la derecha del Cristo, se pude observar un imagen de un obispo que bautiza a una pareja de indígenas; del lado izquierdo aparece la imagen Fray Andrés de Olmos evangelizando a los indígenas de la región. Fue realizado por el pintor José Luis Diez.
El interior
Totalmente reconstruído y decorado los techos y muros con pinturas a la moda del Art Decó; no se conseva nada del proyecto original. El techo de las bóvedas es de estilo románico. Cuenta con un órgano en el área del coro.
El retablo principal está dedicado a la Inmaculada Concepción y fue realizado en mármol de Carrara por los hermanos Biaggi.
El pasillo central [editar]
Conserva este pasillo el mosaico original con las figuras de cruces gamadas, que han causado controversia desde que fueran colocadas. Durante el remozamiento de la catedral a finales de la década de los 90's, a petición del pueblo tampiqueño, fueron preservados.

The triangular pediment frontspicio has a mosaic of the Byzantine manner, with the figure of Christ Pantocrator (Christ Almighty). To the right of Christ, I saw a picture of a bishop who baptizes an Indian couple, the left image appears Fray Andres de Olmos evangelizing the Indians of the region. It was made by the painter Jose Luis Diez.
Inside
Completely rebuilt and decorated ceilings and walls with paintings of Art Deco fashion, not conseva nothing original project. The roof of the vaults is Romanesque. It has an organ in the choir area.
The main altar is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception and was done in Carrara marble by brothers Biaggi.
The central hall [edit]
Please keep this hall the original mosaic swastikas figures, which have caused controversy since they were placed. During the renovation of the cathedral in the late 90's, at the request of the people Tampico, were preserved.
One of my many crap photos taken at the Prodigy gig in Wembley Arena on the 16th April 2009. This was the only half decent photo I took. I wasn't too fussed the photos didn't come out great, it was an awesome gig!
