I don't know why I didn't upload this back in 2018, but here it is now.
En plein aire in the woods, probably procreate but possibly some other app, on my ipad.
My little light
Is going to shine
Shine out so bright
And illuminate your mind
My little soul will leave a footprint
I’m channeling the universe
It’s focusing itself
Inside of me
A singularity

Recently I have started a series of studies based on the book "The secret life of "Tasha Tudor". For those of you who do not know her, Tasha Tudor (1915-2008), that's her on the right) was quite an extraordinary and eccentric woman who raised 4 kids alone, supporting her family painting children's books. She illustrated more than 80 during her lifetime. But that's only the half of it. She lived most of her life barefoot and experienced life on purpose the way people used to around the1830's, an era when she felt she had already lived in another life.
Very talented and quite unique, she was the subject of several books and I used some of the photographs from her life for quick painting studies as I felt they were reminescent of classical paintings and were quite beautiful. Here are a few to start things off!

"SHADES OF KIRA"
Whoever said that drawing kids was hard...was darn right! I took a series of photos of my 4 year old daughter and tried my hand at quickly painting her. While they aren't perfect or totally accurate, they were a good exercise. Also, she is way cuter than my drawings.:)

Usually I'm using up paint after working on a plant painting, so I end up with lots of green late night self-portaits. But this one is digital so I don't know why green...

Procreate App
From memory/imagination
I can't say enough how cool this ProCreate app is on the iPad Pro and with the Apple Pencil.. I still have to draw as before and ProCreate doesn't do anything for me, but when its all digital, its so much easier to use the eraser, changing colours etc etc..
So here is a vintage L just drew.. for no other good reason than the love of vintage letters.. :-) And its a good way to learn the app, drawing something I love..

"GENTLE GIANT"
Some weeks back I visited my mother in Ontario who draws human and animal portraits for fun. She does wonderful graphite and pastel works. On her work table lay a 4x6 hard copy photo of a little girl in full equestrian getup with a very determined expression on her face. Next to her was a giant horse who, although a 1000 times stronger than her looked peaceful as could be. There was no doubt as to who was in charge!
I had been itching to paint children for a while so I asked if she would mind me borrowing the photo. She had tons of other commissions waiting to get done so I inherited the job, painting and printing the final copy for my mother's friend, actually the grandmother of the little girl. When she received the final framed print from my mother she was ecstatic, although a problem arose: was she gonna give the painting to her grandchild as was initially intended, or was she going to keep it all to herself? :)

Since I love color, I have recently begun painting birds because their colors are so intense and satisfying to me. Procreate on iPad Pro

I actually designed Super Skull 2 back in 2008, in black and white, using pen on paper. It was only 3 inches square! Last year I decided to do a colored version on my iPad, and here it is! I used the Procreate app and made the digital version much bigger (12" x 12" square at print quality).
