Freehand from observation of photo of Joan Brown Painting
~30-60 minutes
I was wondering if it was even possible to simulate all the action and textures going on in a Joan Brown painting, and it took 2 or 3 apps just to try to imitate this one pain stroke over stained canvas. The problem is it took quite a bit of tight work to get it, while I'm sure she was painting with a fair amount of looseness and freedom.
Today is the longest Lunar Eclipse of the 21st Century.
I've always loved the moon. It's completely inspiring, and I often forget it's there.
Get off Instagram for a sec. Look up!
Today's lunar eclipse happens when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, and covers the Moon with its shadow.
When this happens, the Moon turns red because of bending red light around the Earth, hence the name #BloodMoon.

Trying to take the same approach as in recent portraits, ie using as few tones as possible to lay in the basic shapes. I guess traditionally this would be the underpainting. I never got it where I wanted it but I hated it less the next morning so here it is.

Freehand while looking at a photo of someone else's landscape painting but I need to figure out whose it was... My marks fell pretty far from the mark though....
