Emmet and Lucy Wyldstyle pour over a pile of Legos to see what is all there, and then determine to create something. Stay tuned to see what they create later!

“8-8 Is a Date to Create”

This almost has a rhyme to it, doesn’t it? If you’ve been waiting for a specific date to create something, your wait is over. On August 8th, we celebrate “The Date to Create,” an effort to put an end to procrastination and get your ball rolling on creating that one thing you’ve been meaning to take on. It could be just about anything you could dream up. All it takes is some imagination, a little know-how, and the resolve to do it. Can’t think of anything you can do just in a single day? No worries — August 8th can be the date you got started on that massive project you’ve been meaning to take on.

Some Stuff You Can Create

Stumped for ideas? That thing you can create doesn’t have to be a massive project. Just something you know you can do. Just think of the feeling of satisfaction you’ll get knowing you created something.

A new recipe. A lot of my favorite recipes started out as improvised ideas for using up holiday leftovers. With a little experimentation, you can get it exactly right and then share it with friends.

A quilt. If you’re into crafting, you probably have a lot of waste fabric laying around. You can turn that fabric into a quilt just by cutting it into evenly sized squares and making up your own pattern. Don’t need a new quilt? No problem. I’ve seen the quilts that the ladies in my church made out of leftover fabric for charity. Ask around to see who might be needing one.

A backyard science experiment. Got some kids who are curious about how something in the science world works? A homemade science experiment can be a good way to demonstrate basic scientific principles. Be sure to read up on how to do it safely and have some fun with it.

A garden. Okay, August 8th might be a little late to start an outdoor garden, but you can create an indoor vegetable garden with a few potted plants and a little cleverness. Grow root vegetables and herbs you can enjoy any time of the year. And you can start planning your outdoor garden for next year.

An Android app. If you’re good with code, you can create your own Android app. Sound daring? The genius behind “Angry Birds” created the original game just using his computer and the books he found in his college’s library. Who knows, you might create the next big app!

And don’t forget Legos! Imagine what you could create with a pile, or small pile or even a big pile, of the world’s favorite building bricks.

Day 290

Admitting the problem is the first step to solving it, right?

"Still procrastinating" by Joseph R. Ferrari

My US infantry so far, add 30+ Some WIPs and special things in there.

Sorry for the crappy photo, I'll see if I can get a indoor lightbox operating shortly.

And yes, tag away! ;)

Minka : "Ricky.. Shouldn't we be getting ready for our trip on Saturday instead of watching TV??"

Ricky : "Minka, If you're going to live here you need to know the rules. When Dad is home the TV is on HGTV 24/7. When he's away, we binge watch shows on Netflix and sometimes we eat breakfast for dinner. It's only Monday. We've got plenty of time to do trip things!"

Minka : "Maybe we should do some research on where we're going and what there is to see in Italy..?"

Ricky : " I'm good. I already know Italian. When you see someone you say 'chow' to them. That means 'Hi' even though it sounds like you're asking for food... Can you move your head? I can't see..."

Minka : **sigh**

I would rather shoot a snowman candle on

my front porch than clean.

The background is snow.

If you have the time this is enjoyable. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ponB8Hd_lG4

Yes, I have some trouble concerning my habit of procrastinating. Sometimes it is just too much that I end up spending the whole night doing nothing instead of finishing my homework!

So yeah this picture is inspired by this situation :)

should be working, need to be working ...... so instead decided to upload another photo from my visit to somersby on sat......

This is what I look at while procrastinating to continue with power point presentation in the middle of the night ... Exactly 11 years ago working next to Methodist hospital till 10 pm every time after my shift stopped by Barnes & Nobles. I picked up a huge “History of New York” book and skimmed through it. Got so attached that eventually one day I purchased it. And today is exactly a year since I became Brooklyn home owner. Love this place ♥️

Have a lot of paper(work) to do work and personal & really really procrastinating ... #morningexercise

"I'm always chasing the light because the darkness reminds me of myself, my own enemy."

another one for my words with photographs series!

I probably shouldn't be uploading this so late (my time) but ah well. I kept procrastinating uploading this because I didn't want to haha. I'm not going to lie, I haven't picked up my camera in a while and I know precisely why. I'm not going to get into it right now, but mostly because I kind of just lost faith in my work. I lost the ability to look at my photos and find something I'm proud of. I actually hate them all right now

BUT I'm doing what I always do, I push myself to get over it because sitting around wondering if I'm ever going to achieve what I want so bad won't do anything. I just have to learn to suck it up and keep going.

but man I've never felt this discouraged. It feels like time is running out and being what I want to be is so far beyond my reach. But yeah, suck it up and keep going.

Finished a big project or two. Spending some time slowing time down by refusing to start a new big project or two. Found the old xerox machine in the back of the library storage.

My loading/progress bar seems to be a tad stuck.

It is to easy to be defeated by the demon that is procrastination

The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter Redux

This is probably the weirdest fence I've ever posted! First I had a snowstorm fence, then I had a picnic in the park fence, then I had a beach fence. But as I was looking through my archives, I came across a 'heart' fence. This being the month of love and all, I immediately yanked it from the archives and dusted it off (I know, it looks like a missed a few spots)!

Seriously folks; this looks NOTHING like the original! I took a beautiful, pristine digital image and systematically destroyed it. And it was so much fun! I really shouldn't be doing this, I have SO MUCH to do before I start my road trip next week. Been up since 3:00 am getting Jack off on her flight to San Diego. So what I'm really doing right now is procrastinating. And when I procrastinate, you can usually find me in Photoshop ... or on Flickr! I decided to 'do something different.' I ran the image through a plugin called Retrographer. It does a whole bunch of fun neat retro camera effects!! I like how this looks like a rumpled Valentine's Day card found in a musty box in the basement.

Happy Fence Friday Everyone!!

Procrastination at its finest ; throwback to Winter Lights and I randomly took a photo of the DLR seeing as there were none on my photostream. This was on one of the rare occasions that the Stratford branch was actually open.

I’ve pretty much spent the entire day procrastinating from working - bad anya.

Although sometimes decorating in SL inspires me, seeing all the different items from various creators come together in a space is pretty awesome, albeit a laggy process lol.

A little snapshot of my workspace as of right now, I decorated an entire skybox but at the end of it, I think this is the only area I’d keep around.

Need credits for furniture? Feel free to ask!

Haven't been out with the camera for ages so playing with some old stuff -pretty ordinary, but preferable to finishing an essay on on Louis XIV ...

Dunno why I'd prefer mucking around with old photos:)

better get back to it...

J'aime beaucoup montré des enfants en train de perdre leur temps ou de faire des niaiseries:)

C'est ma fête aujourd'hui. J'ai 39 ans.

I like to take photos of children when they do stupid things:)

It's my birthday today. 39 years old.

Strobist: one yongnuo flash in a umbrella at right.

my friend Jean always says, "just play," so that's what i did.

For the January challenge to show something about yourself that you would like to change. When it comes to domestic chores, or even working on my projects, I am a terrible procrastinator!

We need to move this wood further back behind the barn, it's sitting under the Silver Maple Tree at the moment. The wood is from the raised beds Stu put in the garden.

Update: It's all moved and out of the way so Kaitlin and Chris can get back to their work without this in their way!
