Procrastinating getting ready... #TerrificTuesday

Months after it should have already been finished: another update!

I am not certain that as a Primary Educations Studies student I should really be advocating procrastination over education, but if there were to be a degree in procrastination, I would get a first. But, my procrastination books are very educational (okay, perhaps not The Meaning of Liff, but the other two definitely are).

The Book of the Year was the book I went to the event for the other night and I have decided that, in order not to detract too much from my studies, I will read a letter a night, so tonight I read C and tomorrow I will read D. If you do not know what it is, it is a book of all the interesting, bizarre or funny news stories of the year that either never made it into the headlines or were brushed over so quickly that they never got the attention they deserved. So, there is a section for Aardvarks (a man in Poland performed CPR on an Aardvark) and a section on Citizenship (Australia are having problems with dual nationality). There are also conversations between the four QI Elves that wrote the book, which are both informative and amusing.

I leave to Vancouver on Thursday and the amount of work and packing that I have to do is daunting. I look at all the clothes, books and little bits and bobs and feel like it is a never ending pile of things... The nice thing is my mom is constantly on me to get it done, which helps tremendously. Maybe I’ll get her to do it all for me... :)

PS. I have lychees!

I'm supposed to be working on something career oriented today. Instead, I thought I'd bake some scones (and I never bake). Maybe I'll scrub the toilet next.

Procrastination sometimes pays off....

It's finally starting to look like spring outside, and yet I am stuck indoors working. Or rather, procrastinating and redressing my girlies. Apple just looks perfect in this new ET dress. All ready for spring.

Weird stuff happens when I avoid work - exhibit A.

Procrastination Monday

i let the day get away from me again :P

i do love my little lensbaby.

Slept in 'til almost 10, went for coffee and a sausage & cheese biscuit, now I'm wasting time on Flickr. I got stuff to do today!!! Get movin' Dave!!

I should be looking up Fulkerson Osteotomy but I just can't do it.

I didn't pick up this drink cup on my walk this morning. Prior to the lockdown, I was picking up litter in my neighborhood on an almost daily basis. But not anymore. I will resume only if I think it is a safe thing for me to be doing.

ODC: Procrastination

When you have leftover bananas at hand, you gotta make dessert out of it. Super easy. Moist. Childhood-evoking. And source of procrastination.

For those wondering...this is real...the fortune and the cookie were not created using photoshop.

Fortune Cookie Message:

Stop Procrastinating - Starting Tomorrow

when writer's block strikes... cyanotype!

Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

I got this awesome robot figure from my wife for Christmas! It’s got some character!

I captured this quick image on our back wall with a new lens that my brother gifted me; the Mamiya-Sekor 55mm f1.4. This lens was produced by Tomioka in their heyday when they were manufacturing lenses for lots of different companies. It’s got a brownish orange radioactive coating on the front of the glass and is now by far one of my best bokeh lenses wide open. (The lens listed in the area above is not correct; not sure how to change that meta-data?)

I procrastinated as long as I could. I loved the Sony cell phone. But, it was obsolete; it didn't have enough memory to update even the most basic apps. I especially didn't want to replace it because of the cost of a new phone! But, I had to spend the money.

Also, I've already posted a lament about this shirt. I bought it in 1995; MTSO is the seminary I attended. The garment was originally beige. When the color faded, I asked my son to tie dye it. That was back when Even was in high school and was tie dying everything in sight. Even he thought it was weird to do that to a polo shirt, but he helped anyway. Now, the dye is faded and there's a hole near the embroidery. I'll probably find a way to frame it.

I thought it was only fitting to use my new cell phone to take today's self-portrait. So, here I am, viewed through the Samsung! Happy Selfie Sunday, friends! I'm glad I get to keep you!

Guess who is saying each of the following. Can you tell who is or was procrastinating?

"Boy, the dust sure built up on this case. We should have dusted weeks ago!"

"Honey, I missed out on Cheese Pizza day. I had to settle for a pepperoni pizza."

"Yes, dear, Cheese Pizza day was yesterday. But, I got a good deal on this carpet shampooer. I was keeping my eye on it for weeks and it went on sale today!"

"Yes, Chico, I know. I'll walk you in a few more seconds. Oh, he finally answered my text...."

So, have you procrastinated yet today? Better hurry and go and practice!

Or, Do it! Don't put it off any longer! Let today be your inspiration to get those jobs done that you have been intending to do.

September 6 Is Fight Procrastination Day

Fight Procrastination Day is today. It's a day to get things done; a call to action.

To many people, procrastination is a way of life. The more difficult the action or decision, the easier it is to join the league of procrastinators. As a procrastinator, you are in very good company. You can even become a card carrying member of a Procrastinator's Club.

Today is a day to fight procrastination. Make a decision. Take action. Do it now. Do it today. It may be hard to do. But, you will be glad you did.

Now, all you have to do is stop procrastinating and decide to fight procrastination...today!

Theme of the Day: “Never put off until tomorrow, what you can do today!”—Mark Twain

Have a very happy Fight Procrastination Day!

With The Choke rendering Earth’s atmosphere unbreathable to most living beings, humanity had no choice but to create their own self-contained living spaces. At first, ‘Outposts’ were nothing more than hastily constructed habitation complexes to house the newly displaced environmental refugees. They provided the bare minimum to ensure a human population could be sustained for an extended period of time; whether it be food, sleeping quarters, or personal hygiene.

As the full gravity of the Choke set in, many came to the unsettling realization that the outposts would be a long-term arrangement for all of mankind. Being restricted to such tight dwellings, overpopulation and resource availability became a serious concern for many. Procedures were quickly put into place to avoid this; namely the adoption of one-child policies for future families, as well as strict food rationing programs. Cramped living quarters were inevitable; bunkhouses, cafeterias, and communal washrooms quickly become a societal norm.

After the first few generations, humanity came to terms with its changed environment and has since attempted to adapt to the new world. With the advent of Proxies and the rapid popularization of remote-presence workers, mankind theoretically became unrestricted in its approach to urban planning. Enclosed cities and megastructures, controlled-environment farming, seasteading, underwater habitats, arctic outposts, and even fledgling space colonization efforts.

Still, majority of mankind remain within the originally established outposts; regularly expanding upon their designs, constructing additional modules, and generally carrying on with life as usual.

Almost two months I was working on this! Fffffffffffu-

I was originally thinking with the last instalment "Oh sweet, I got that huge scene out of the way, Now I get to move forward to the one I've really been looking forward to." Only for me to then realize I have a couple of lore instalments paired with this chapter, and they also needed to be included. So yeah...

The last four parts were simple, and I went into it knowing that. I pumped them all out within November. The first scene at the top, on the other hand, I knew for a fact was going to be a pain in the ass. I felt I was procrastinating on it more than I should have. Couple that with my irl work schedule getting more and more busy. I'd get home late in the evening, and just be so mentally drained I didn't feel like working on building.

But yeah, I probably put way too much thought and effort into each individual scene, along with a little too much editing. The way I have them all put together its probably hard to distinguish all the minor details, so please zoom in

NOW I can finally move on with the main story! (at least for the next two parts...)

If you fave, comment as well!

My US infantry so far, add 30+ Some WIPs and special things in there.

Sorry for the crappy photo, I'll see if I can get a indoor lightbox operating shortly.

And yes, tag away! ;)

Minka : "Ricky.. Shouldn't we be getting ready for our trip on Saturday instead of watching TV??"

Ricky : "Minka, If you're going to live here you need to know the rules. When Dad is home the TV is on HGTV 24/7. When he's away, we binge watch shows on Netflix and sometimes we eat breakfast for dinner. It's only Monday. We've got plenty of time to do trip things!"

Minka : "Maybe we should do some research on where we're going and what there is to see in Italy..?"

Ricky : " I'm good. I already know Italian. When you see someone you say 'chow' to them. That means 'Hi' even though it sounds like you're asking for food... Can you move your head? I can't see..."

Minka : **sigh**
