Near the end of the summer, I was asked by the publishers of Popular Science magazine to produce a visualization piece that explored the archive of their publication. PopSci has a history that spans almost 140 years, so I knew there would be plenty of material to draw from. Working with Mark Hansen, I ended up making a graphic that showed how different technical and cultural terms have come in and out of use in the magazine since it's inception.

I was hoping he would not catch me working on this shot, but he did. As he was walking out the room, shaking his head, he mumbled something about my IQ score dropping by 70 points. LOL I'm sure he was also thinking that I should post a picture of myself this week!
Here is a mashup of my process. I used old fabric I had, bright pink yarn that was a giveaway, and some old yellow trim!

This is an homage to Edward R. Murrow's epic See It Now broadcasts of the 1950s which helped bring down Senator Joseph McCarthy. Due to the worst days of my recovery from a tooth extraction, I am reduced to playing around.

For the rebranding of Actelion, a biopharmaceutical company, we developed a tool for automatic image generation that enables the generation of a unique, in-itself homogeneous graphic image world out of heterogeneous visual material.
Processed fish sausage (kamaboko) with, to a Western palette, unusual texture reminiscent of bathroom sealant. At first, like Konyaku, this texture did not agree with me, but now I am a fish sausage fan - it is a healthy cheap protein that can be used in a variety of foods.
This product being sold as having a great "shiko shiko" bite. I am not sure what texture "shiko shiko" refers to.

I don't know what Nat's character is called so I titled this based on what I did to the photo. I used Topaz Adjust's Dark - Night faded to 65% on the Overlay mode and Nik Software's Color Efex Pro - Pro Contrast / Cross-Processing & Film Grain filters. Light pattern created with MagMod's MagBeam with stencil.

All tabs cranked , fit fixture A.O.K. Tubes “n” all...Chainstay dropout tabs knifed, have to finish fitting the seatstay to dropout tabs and then knife those tabs. The profile of the tabs, their height above the stays, will be probably reduced as I see fit after Brazing.
