Pictures from the WOMAD Procession which snakes through the festival at the end of Sunday afternoon. This is the chance for the children, their families and the helpers to show off the wonderful costumes, masks, music instrument and models they have spent the week making in 'The World of Kinds' area. Lots of charities get involved, as do some of the performers. Look out for the Dohls of Jaipur, The Bollywood Band and Beatroots.

I'm one of 100 artists working with 100 arts organisations to create 100 banners to celebrate the centenary of The Representation of the People's Act. I'm working with a group of Prism Arts artist, participants and friends. Our banner will join one of four processions taking place on 10th June 2018. This project is organised by Artichoke.

Shortly after 5am and less than 15 minutes of sleep for me, this procession moved past Chez Fris accompanied by an 8 piece band (out of frame on the right) with a horn section.
Candlelight procession during the early morning hours in Axum, Ethiopia. A priest carries a large processional cross. Just behind, another priest under a liturgical umbrella carries a sacred book wrapped in fine cloth. Next comes a priest under another liturgical umbrella carrying a replica of the Ark of the Covenant upon his head. The replica is covered with fine cloth. Another priest swings a censer. The event honors an Ethiopian saint.
