Silent procession in honor of Liduina (Lidwina) Schiedam. A Dutch mystic and patron saint of the world's jenever capital. At the age 15 she fell on the ice during skating (how Dutch!). She never recovered and after some time her life was full of miracles and visions. Despite the ice crash, she is also patron of ice skaters.

During the procession many important places for Liduina are visited. For the non-religious visitor/ follower a perfect way to see and know more about Schiedam's rich history.

A Holy Week procession in Angeles City. This was on Good Friday. The carriage shown carries a statue of the dead body of Jesus, also called “Santo Intierro”.

Procession of Ceremonial Officers and Praelector

On Saturday 30th March 2019, a massive procession of RTs roamed around Barking. Here are a selection of a few of my best photos from the event.

The Procession Panel - it's been on our list of things to see for a while, when we saw photos of it in Blanding, we had to see it for ourselves. It's named for a long continuous line of 179 pecked figures marching across a cliff face way up on Comb Ridge.

What does it all mean? As usual, the archaeologists have their theories but nobody really knows; the thing is its own explanation. Maybe the images; animal figures and human-like forms coming from three different directions and converging on a central circle, getting smaller and smaller until they disappear, might represent a clan migration or a ceremonial gathering. We'll never know for sure, all we have is interpretation. What we found was beauty, isolation, fine art and a sense of wonder witout the usual desecration - bubbaglyphs and bullet holes.

The procession of the Virgen del Carmen in Torre del Mar, a town located on the coast of the province of Malaga (Spain), is one of the most important festivities in the municipality. This procession is celebrated annually on July 16, the day of the festival of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of fishermen and the town. The image of the Virgin is carried in procession from the church to the sea, accompanied by numerous faithful and devotees, many of whom participate in the maritime celebrations.
