The story behind
'Novitiate Nebula'
This quilt is made out of 80 different blocks from a variety of block of the months and quilt alongs that I participated in during 2012.

I finally put this mish mash of blocks made from my scraps together into one cohesive quilt this year. I used a fabric that already had these cool patterned circles on it and cut it for the border.
I sent it to my aunt, Barb Raisbeck of Quilts by Barb for the long arm quilting. She used a flourescent orange thred to make these amazingly intricate swirl designs on the border and to emphasize the new york beauty block. Using a gray thread she did a rounded building block type design all over the rest of the quilt. It really is the perfect quilting solution to the crazy top I sent.

Once the JPSS-1 is safely inside the Astrotech Processing Facility, the satellite’s instruments will go through additional pre-launch testing. Then, just prior to the big day, the satellite will be encapsulated within the United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket that will take it on its final journey -- to space!

The beautiful anguaji gave me some slide film when I got back from travelling. I recently got it cross-processed and developed and this picture is one of the resulting photographs.
Mr. P and I decided to take a couple of my cameras for a nice walk through some of the (technically) less picturesque parts of Newcastle over the weekend. Et Voilà ! :)

Advanced Beauty project test render images. These screengrabs are from the most recent working version of my contribution which you can read a bit about here.
The final piece runs about 4.5 minutes at 25fps.
Lighting Info: SB-26 fired into white satin umbrella at 1/2 camera right. SB-800 illuminating wall and filling shadows at 1/16, SB-600 on camera firing the other two and adding fill at 1/32. Shot RAW applied custon color preset, then opened in Photoshop and did the "Dave Hill Look" to this image.
I don't ussually process images this heavily, but I thought it worked well with this set

For the rebranding of Actelion, a biopharmaceutical company, we developed a tool for automatic image generation that enables the generation of a unique, in-itself homogeneous graphic image world out of heterogeneous visual material.
