Before & after post processing. This 100+ year-old dairy farm barn and concrete silo (Keetch Family) is in the middle of a small town (St. Charles) in SE Idaho that has grown around it over the decades. Although there is very little overall light pollution in this rural area, there is quite a bit of local light pollution from several surrounding home yard lights, making the barn over lit with a mixture of sodium-vapor (yellow-orange) and mercury-vapor (green) light colors. Here are the corrective steps I took:
• Darken & desaturate the barn/silo via yellow channel
• Increased sky contrast (which reveals the
latent colors in the sky)
• Enhanced the Andromeda Galaxy*
• Reduce barn & silo keystone distortion
*The barn is facing the NE sky, so the core of the Milky Way is behind me.

a lot of people ask me how did i process the milky way. okay, here is the spoiler of the magic ;)
upper left: ugly original version, ISO 1600, 14mm, 0 ev, f/2.8, 30 sec.
upper right: I enhanced the milky way by adjusting temperature, tint, exposure, brightness, black, clarity and some curve works
bottom left: adjusted the curve to get better ground view
bottom right: blended two versions together with gradient layer mask, that's it ;)
One third of the way there (-ish). I have always liked the scars, in a 'you show me yours and I'll show you mine', sort of way...
I have been playing with my non existing creative skills on this old flower photo from 2014.
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to view, comment, and fave my photo.
.... looking down on the water from a rickety wooden bridge, over a small stream. The water was flowing over a log, and the 'figures' were marching across it in constantly changing forms ....

The process of making batik is still traditional from old days and not changes until now. Still can be seen from the tools and function of the equipment are quite traditional and unique.

Done with crossword puzzles my Dad has done! He doesn't know yet that I have done this! Won't he be surprized??!! :)

I usually start with the RAW file. I adjust the white balance, exposure, contrast and colors, then refine sharpness and noise reduction before exporting the image.
With film, I chose the type and sensitivity of the film. After taking the photographs, I developed the negative in chemical baths, then enlarged it onto light-sensitive paper, controlling the exposure time and contrast.
