I wrote some code in Processing that averaged a minute's worth of video frames into one still. The first thing I unleashed it on was Terry Gilliam's "Brazil". These are some of the results.

if you would like to follow my newest hobby. I got a facebook page for my luxury dresses that I’m going to make in about two weeks from now. I can hardly wait to begin sewing. I got to draw a lot of dresses before I make them so I’ll know what I’m going to make. Thank you. my facebook page is «ROOS dresses» These dresses I’m going to make are for rental use. If you are a photographer, stylist and so on you can rent these by sending me a message on facebook. ❤️

My current work addresses the production of food in modern American society. From factory farming to locally raised produce, I seek to explore what may be one of the most pressing issues of our time in a lighthearted and approachable manner. It is widely acknowledged that the industrialization of food manufacturing has transformed the lives, habits, and bodies of Americans, as well as alerted the way that most of our society thinks-or doesn’t think-about where food comes from and what food is. I create digitally fabricated representations of animals that are engineered and produced, and may have more in common with products or raw materials than other living creatures. These animals, which are designed, fabricated and then placed on assembly lines that guide their existence from inception to processing, include chickens, cows, pigs, and fish. My work is also concerned with edible plants and their role in our lives both historically and presently. Plants as well as animals are now being generated inside laboratories, and travel unimaginable distances to reach our supermarkets and tables. This is a marvel of human technology and global society as well as a complex system that may need re-working if humanity is to move toward a sustainable future.

I hope that I can put what goes onto your plate into your thoughts as well.

Whenever I wanted to change the appearance of the graph, I'd go back to working with a smaller set of data. Here, I've returned to 1988-1989, the switch between the Reagan and Bush presidencies. This is the first addition of any kind of key to these graphs, and also the center-placed timeline.

These images document progress in my latest attempt to visualize data from the NYTimes API. These images are chronological, and show the evolution of this small project as it progressed over the course of a day.

This is the loverly DeAnna Marie. :) She hired me and my little camera for some Senior/Couples Pictures.

A cropped and processed version of one of my pegs shots. Processed in Adobe Photoshop CS3 for Mac. Added some contrast, did a cross-processing effect, and a slight desaturation. I felt that having *some* colour in here was a good thing, rather than making it completely black and white. What do you think ?

early excerpt here

trying Processing out as more than a tool to sketch out ideas, rather exploring the possibility that I can create finished pieces with it. (who knew?)

Why? Because I could AND the original looked like crap.

I’m streaming The Gravedigger’s Meditation at my website - www.drawclose.com - through Feb. 28. After that, it will disappear into the land of ‘password protected screener’ as I work to get it shown elsewhere.

The Overcoat : Gogol’s story of a poor, quiet copyist who finagles a new overcoat in the bitterest of Russian winters. Then, it is stolen; what was a blessing becomes a disaster. Vladimir Nabokov said of Gogol: "When, as in the immortal The Overcoat, he really let himself go and pottered on the brink of his private abyss, he became the greatest artist that Russia has yet produced.” Its a nice short - read it over here if you wish.

This animation - - yes, I did steal images of overcoats from the internet in order to make it … The piece is also a meditation on the role of copying, language-as-object, record-keeping, and technology to a community’s memory. Yeah there may be a wink at the commodification of appearances but you know, the first rule of capitalist materialism is you don’t talk about how it works.

Animation frankensteined together in Adobe AfterEffects from parts created with QT7, Processing, and Quartz Composer. Audio created & mixed in Apple Logic, better with headphones.
